Endometrial cancer (EC) incidence and mortality have been steadily rising globally over recent decades. The introduction of advanced molecular technologies, such as next-generation sequencing (NGS) alongside the FIGO 2023 classification, presents opportunities for refined diagnostics and risk stratification. This study aimed to analyze differences in EC classification among oncology centers in southeastern Poland.

To evaluate the performance of MRI guided fusion needle prostate biopsies in the collaborative, we analyzed the variability by practice in rates of detection of clinically significant prostate cancer and patient characteristics associated with detection of clinically significant prostate cancer.
Methods: We analyzed 857 first-time MRI fusion biopsy procedures performed at five practices (minimum 20 procedures) between 2015 and 2019.
Background: Myocardial infarction (MI) significantly contributes to the global mortality rate, often leading to heart failure (HF) due to left ventricular remodeling. Key factors in the pathomechanism of HF include nitrosative/oxidative stress, inflammation, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Furthermore, while a high-fat diet (HFD) is known to exacerbate post-MI cardiac remodeling, its impact on these critical factors in the context of HF is not as well understood.

Guidelines recommend against imaging low-risk prostate cancer patients with a computed tomography (CT) scan or bone scan due to the low probability of metastasis. We reviewed imaging performed for men diagnosed with low-risk prostate cancer across the Pennsylvania Urologic Regional Collaborative (PURC), a physician-led data sharing and quality improvement collaborative.

HistoLens enables users to interrogate sets of digitally annotated whole slide images to efficiently characterize histological differences between disease and experimental groups. Users can dynamically visualize the distribution of 448 hand-engineered features quantifying color, texture, morphology, and distribution across microanatomic sub-compartments.

Paired analysis of histopathology and molecular data can provide pathologists with otherwise unobtainable insights into biological mechanisms. To connect the disparate molecular and histopathologic features into a single workspace, we developed (unctional nit tate dentificati in WSIs [Whole Slide Images]), a web-based tool that provides users with a broad array of visualization and analytical tools including deep learning-based algorithms for in-depth interrogation of spatial -OMICS datasets and their associated high-resolution histology images.

The patient was diagnosed based on the course of the disease and the results of imaging and laboratory tests. We excluded other most probable causes of the disease.

Methods: This single-center retrospective cohort study identified patients undergoing hernia repair. The site used PDS from 2013 to 2016 and switched exclusively to barbed TCS in 2017.
Objective: To study the specific mechanisms through which progesterone and selective progesterone receptor modulators impact the growth, synthesis, and accumulation of the extracellular matrix in uterine leiomyomas.
Design: Laboratory study.
Setting: Academic Research Institutions.
Total joint arthroplasty (TJA) with multi-layer, watertight closure (MLWC) using knotless barbed suture and 2-octyl cyanoacrylate plus polymer mesh tape was compared with conventional closure (CC) using Vicryl™ sutures and staples. Electronic medical records of patients undergoing TJA (1574: total knee arthroplasty; 580: total hip arthroplasty; 13: unknown) from a single surgeon at a US hospital (CC 2011 to 2013; MLWC 2015 to 2020) were reviewed. Outcomes were length of stay (LOS), discharge to skilled nursing facility (SNF), 90-day surgical site infection (SSI) and 90-day readmission.

Methods: The global, prospective, observational REASSURE study (NCT02141438) assessed real-world safety and effectiveness of radium-223 in patients with mCRPC.
Purposes: To compare the risk of anastomotic leak (AL) between Ethicon manual circular staplers (two-row) versus Medtronic EEA circular stapler with Tri-Staple technology (three-row) and between Medtronic EEA circular stapler with DST Series technology (two-row) versus Tri-Staple technology.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted in adult patients who underwent a left-sided colorectal surgery 2019-2022 in U.S.
Introduction: This study aims to determine if there is a difference in prostate cancer nomogram-adjusted risk of biochemical recurrence (BCR) and/or adverse pathology (AP) between African American (AAM) and Caucasian men (CM) undergoing radical prostatectomy (RP).
Methods: A retrospective review was performed of men undergoing RP in the Pennsylvania Urologic Regional Collaborative between 2015 and 2021. Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to compare the rate of BCR after RP, and logistic regression models were used to compare rates of AP after RP between CM and AAM, adjusting for the CAPRA, CAPRA-S, and MSKCC pre- and post-operative nomogram scores.
Objective: Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) has been increasingly utilized in prostate cancer (CaP) diagnosis and staging. While Level 1 data supports MRI utility in CaP diagnosis, there is less data on staging utility. We sought to evaluate the real-world accuracy of mpMRI in staging localized CaP.

Kidney histology helps diagnose DN and predict its outcomes, and an artificial intelligence (AI)-based approach will maximize clinical utility of histopathological evaluation. Herein, we addressed whether AI-based integration of urine proteomics and image features improves DN classification and its outcome prediction, altogether augmenting and advancing pathology practice.

With few cases of genitourinary soft tissue sarcomas reported in the literature, little is known about progression, management, and treatment. Herein, we report a case of metastatic paratesticular leiomyosarcoma in a 47-year-old male with no past urological history.

Contemporary data highlight an increase in PNB-related infections particularly when performed transrectally. Non-infectious complications, however, may similarly contribute to biopsy-related morbidity.

Use of PSA density has been suggested to further risk-stratify these men, to potentially avoid biopsies in favor of monitoring. We evaluate the ability of PSA density (PSAd) to risk-stratify PIRADs 3 lesions across patients who underwent a prostate biopsy in a large multi-institutional collaborative.

Histological image data and molecular profiles provide context into renal condition. Often, a biopsy is drawn to diagnose or monitor a suspected kidney problem. However, molecular profiles can go beyond a pathologist's ability to see and diagnose.

However, pathologists and regulatory agencies are reluctant to trust the output of complex models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) due to their usual implementation as black-box tools. Increasing the interpretability of quantitative analyses is a critical line of research in order to increase the adoption of modern Machine Learning (ML) pipelines in clinical environments.

Severe obesity often needs surgery to promote weight loss, but due to the rapid therapeutic success after the surgery, many patients lack the awareness of the need to consistently maintain the postoperative care. However, therapeutic success and psychological well-being can be increased through group interventions and social support of the group members.
