This study analyzed the residue depletion kinetics of ivermectin (IVM) in Nelore and crossbred (Nelore x Angus) cattle aiming to compare the profiles between the breeds and evaluate the residue levels at the injection site. IVM 1%, at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg, was administered the subcutaneous route, and tissue samples were collected on different days post administration for analysis by LC-MS/MS.

We have reviewed and critically appraised the available literature evidence regarding the use of topical anesthetics in patients with simple corneal abrasions. Using sequential Delphi review, we have developed these clinical guidelines.

The RAMIC trial was a randomized, multicenter, placebo-controlled, double-blind, allocation-concealed clinical trial to examine the efficacy of de novo ramipril versus placebo for the treatment of COVID-19.
Methods: Eligible participants were aged 18 years and older with a confirmed diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection, recruited from urgent care clinics, emergency departments, and hospital inpatient wards at eight sites in the USA.
Background: Dance therapy is thought to improve mental and physical health by activating psychological and physiological processes such as motor coordination, and expression of emotions. Some currently used mind-body interventions for posttraumatic symptoms address both mental and physical health. Although some studies have evaluated the efficacy of dance therapy for posttraumatic symptoms, a systematic review of extant research has not been conducted.

A population pharmacokinetic model was developed to describe alterations in ceftaroline brain disposition caused by meningitis in healthy and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)-infected rats. Blood and brain microdialysate samples were obtained after a single bolus dose of ceftaroline fosamil (20 mg/kg) administered intravenously. Plasma data were modeled as one compartment, and brain data were added to the model as a second compartment, with bidirectional drug transport between plasma and brain ( and ).

A bioanalytical LC-MS/MS method was developed and validated to determine ceftaroline in microdialysate samples from plasma and brain. Ceftaroline was separated using a C18 column and a mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile, both with 5 mM of ammonium formate and acid formic 0.1%, eluted as gradient.

Here, we sought to evaluate the effect of vaccination status on the use of sotrovimab during the early phase of the Omicron surge.
Methods: This was a retrospective observational study performed at El Centro Regional Medical Center, a rural hospital on the southern Californian border.
This 2023 Clinical Policy from the American College of Emergency Physicians is an update of the 2008 “Clinical Policy: Neuroimaging and Decisionmaking in Adult Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in the Acute Setting.” A writing subcommittee conducted a systematic review of the literature to derive evidence-based recommendations to answer the following questions: 1) In the adult emergency department patient presenting with minor head injury, are there clinical decision tools to identify patients who do not require a head computed tomography? 2) In the adult emergency department patient presenting with minor head injury, a normal baseline neurologic examination, and taking an anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, is discharge safe after a single head computed tomography? and 3) In the adult emergency department patient diagnosed with mild traumatic brain injury or concussion, are there clinical decision tools or factors to identify patients requiring follow-up care for postconcussive syndrome or to identify patients with delayed sequelae after emergency department discharge? Evidence was graded and recommendations were made based on the strength of the available data. Widespread and consistent implementation of evidence-based clinical recommendations is warranted to improve patient care.

However, few prior cases of sulfhemoglobinemia in the setting of acetaminophen overdose have been reported. We report a case of mixed methemoglobinemia and sulfhemoglobinemia in the setting of a large, isolated acetaminophen ingestion.

Introduction: Pediatric organophosphate insecticide poisonings are rare in the United States, and life-threatening toxicity is rarely seen. We report 2 accidental ingestions of the organophosphate insecticide coumaphos that resulted in life-threatening symptoms.
Case Reports: A 7-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl both presented from home after accidental ingestion of 1 "spoonful" of coumaphos 20% liquid (Asuntol; Bayer de Mexico, S.

Analytical methodology for quantification of 15 antiparasitic drugs and their respective metabolites in laying hen eggs was optimized and validated. The method uses acetonitrile as solvent extraction, sodium chloride for salting-out, low-temperature purification and analysis by LC-MS/MS. A total of 348 egg samples were collected in 11 states of Brazil and 50% of the total samples presented antiparasitic residues, which were albendazole, fipronil, fenbendazole, ivermectin, oxibendazole and mebendazole.
