The objective of this in vitro study was to determine the effects of dental fluorosis on the tensile bond strength of metal brackets bonded to human teeth and to evaluate the changes in the tooth enamel surface after debonding. The study sample consisted of 68 recently extracted human upper premolars, which were divided into 2 groups: the fluorosis group (34 fluorosed teeth) and the control group (34 healthy teeth). Identical premolar metal brackets were bonded on the buccal surfaces of the teeth.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore how genetics and the environment influence the development of third molar root stages by examining 162 same-sex twins.
  • Results indicated that females showed earlier root development compared to males, and monozygotic twins had stronger similarities in their development stages than dizygotic twins.
  • The findings suggest that about 60-63% of the variability in root mineralization is due to genetic factors, while environmental factors contribute less significantly, with common environments at 25-27% and specific environments at about 14%.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how much heredity influences the position of upper third molars using panoramic radiographs of same-gender twins.
  • The researchers analyzed 212 twins to determine the contributions of genetic factors and environmental factors, concluding that genetic influences were significant, with up to 84% impact on molar size and angulation.
  • Overall, the results emphasize that genetic factors substantially determine the positioning of upper third molars, indicating a heritability estimate of 59%.

The purpose of this investigation was to determine the impact of heritability on third molar agenesis in twins. The study sample consisted of 284 same sex twins (172 monozygotic and 112 dizygotic), whose mean ages were 19.7 ± 4.

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of teeth bleaching on the tensile bond strength of metal brackets bonded with light-curing adhesive system to the human enamel. 40 recently extracted human permanent molars were used for the study. The mesial buccal surface of each tooth was used as a control group and the distal buccal surface was used as an experimental group.

Unlabelled: The purpose of this trial was to determine the rate of complications and the cause of complications after intraarticular fractures of the distal radius. We examined those patients, who had intraarticular fractures of the distal radius and who were treated in Kaunas University of Medicine Hospital and Kaunas Red Cross hospital in 1998-2000. The evaluation of results was made by movement of the joint and pain in the wrist, which was evaluated by pain scale and McGill pain questionnaire.
