Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic allergic condition affecting the esophagus and driven by food antigens. Many individuals diagnosed with EoE have other allergic conditions, such as food allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. The clinical goals of therapy in EoE include symptomatic, histologic, and endoscopic remission.

Introduction: The frequency of mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in Latin America has decreased considerably. However, new infections continue to be recorded, and the pediatric population remains one of the most vulnerable groups in this region. The main objective of the study was to describe the clinical, epidemiological and psychosocial characteristics of new diagnoses of HIV MTCT in 2018 in the PLANTAIDS network (Paediatric Network for Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment of HIV in Children) during the 3 years following diagnosis.

Case Study: We report a case of a patient with uncontrolled severe asthma and other T2 inflammatory diseases (atopic dermatitis, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis and eosinophilic esophagitis) treated with dupilumab.
Background: the association between ovarian endometriosis (OE) and endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer (EAOC) is extensively documented, and misfunction of the immune system might be involved. The primary objective of this study was to identify and compare the spatial distribution of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs) in OE and EAOC. Secondary objectives included the analysis of the relationship between immunosuppressive populations and T-cell exhaustion markers in both groups.

Methods: A prospective, multicentre, observational, non-interventional real-life study was performed in France and Spain for 20 months. Data were gathered using 2 different questionnaires, anonymously collected in an online platform.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFIntroduction: High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) is the second most frequent gynecological malignancy but the most lethal, partially due to the spread of the disease through the peritoneal cavity. Recent evidence has shown that, apart from their role in immune defense through phagocytosis and degranulation, neutrophils are able to participate in cancer progression through the release of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in a process called NETosis. NETs are composed of DNA, histones, calprotectin, myeloperoxidase (MPO) and elastase and the NETosis process has been proposed as a pre-requisite for the establishment of omental metastases in early stages of HGSOC.

It is a very rare disease in children, with a complicated diagnosis due to the fact that antigen exposure usually goes unnoticed.

Background: For the most part, adverse reactions caused by subcutaneous allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) are directly induced by the administration of an allergen; there is usually redness and induration at the area of the injection. Other skin lesions are extremely unusual.
Case Report: A 40-year-old woman with allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and asthma due to sensitization to grass pollen had received monthly doses of 0.
