3-Methylmethcathinone (3-MMC or metaphedrone) has become one of the most popular recreational drugs worldwide after the ban of mephedrone, and was recently deemed responsible for several intoxications and deaths. This study aimed at assessing the hepatotoxicity of 3-MMC. For this purpose, Wistar rat hepatocytes were isolated by collagenase perfusion, cultured and exposed for 24 h at a concentration range varying from 31 nM to 10 mM 3-MMC.
