A rapid multi-residue LC-MS/MS method for the identification and determination of banned veterinary drugs in honey was developed. A total of 31 investigated veterinary drugs belonging to 4 classes including nitrofurans metabolites, nitroimidazoles, amphenicols, and quinolones were quantified by LC-MS/MS with ESI using one single injection. The sample preparation included treatment with 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde (5-NFA) in a thermostated ultrasonic bath (80 °C, 0.

In the body of animals, NFs are converted into carcinogenic and mutagenic metabolites that can be accumulated in foods of animal origin having an adverse effect on human health. Therefore, NFs are currently banned in animal husbandry and aquaculture of many countries.

A total of 132 veterinary drugs investigated belonged to almost 15 classes including sulfonamides, β-lactams, tetracyclines, quinolones, macrolides, nitrofurans, nitroimidazoles, phenicols, lincosamides, pleuromutilins, macrocyclic lactones, quinoxaline antibiotics, benzimidazoles, anthelmintics, coccidiostats and some others. A magnetic solid-phase extraction procedure was developed using magnetic hypercrosslinked polystyrene (HCP/FeO) for the sample preparation prior to HPLC-MS/MS without deproteinization step.

Objective: To compare the cognitive functioning of patients with paranoid schizophrenia with alcohol dependence syndrome and patients with this disease without comorbid alcohol pathology.
Material And Methods: The study included 34 patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, paranoid form, aged 24 to 39 years (22 men and 12 women). The experimental group included 17 patients with paranoid schizophrenia combined with alcohol dependence syndrome with diagnosed symptomatic alcoholism.
In this study, 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde (5-NFA) was proposed as a new derivatizing agent for nitrofuran metabolites. It reacts with nitrofuran metabolites producing the parent nitrofurans (furazolidone, furaltadone, nitrofurantoin, and nitrofurazone). Magnetic hypercrosslinked polystyrene (HCP/FeO) was first used for magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) clean-up before the determination of nitrofuran metabolite derivatives in honey via LC-MS/MS.

Non-motor disturbances represented by sensory, affective, obsessive-compulsive disorders, cognitive dysfunction, sleep disturbances are often found in patients with dystonia and have a negative impact on their quality of life. The prevalence of sensory and affective disorders and sleep disturbances is above 50% in patients with cervical dystonia and is 25% in patients with blepharospasm, writing spasm; cognitive dysfunction is found in more than 25% of patients with focal dystonia. The relationship of non-motor, in particular psychiatric disorders, with the impairment of social and everyday life and worsening of quality of life in whole was shown.

This material was prepared by sorption of pre-synthesized Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) onto HCP. A number of sorbents with varying Fe3O4NPs content were prepared, and their structural, magnetic and sorption properties were studied.

This procedure is based on SPE of sulfonamides on hypercrosslinked polystyrene, elution with acetonitrile and off-line derivatization with p-dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde in acetonitrile followed by spectrophotometric determination. The reaction produces intense violet-red color and can be easily used both for quantitation of sulfonamides using spectrophotometry and for naked-eye semi-quantitative estimation.

For this reason, sensitive and specific methods for the quantification of these compounds in numerous matrices have been developed. This review intends to provide an updated overview of the recent trends over the past five years in sample preparation techniques and methods for detecting SAs.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmunostimulating complexes (ISCOMs) are unique, multimolecular structures formed by encapsulating antigens, lipids, and triterpene saponins of plant origin, and are an effective delivery system for various kinds of antigens. The uses of ISCOMs formulated with saponins from plants collected in Kazakhstan, with antigens from the poultry coccidian parasite Eimeria tenella, were evaluated for their potential use in developing a vaccine for control of avian coccidiosis. Saponins isolated from the plants Aesculus hippocastanum and Glycyrrhiza glabra were partially purified by HPLC.

To assess the evolutionary characteristics of 10 NDV strains isolated from chickens in Kazakhstan during 1998 we investigated the phylogenetic relationships among these viruses and viruses described previously. For genotyping, fusion (F) gene phylogenetic analysis (nucleotide number 47-421) was performed using sequences of Kazakhstanian isolates as compared to sequences of selected NDV strains from GenBank.

The transcription factor nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB regulates the expression of genes that can influence cell proliferation and death. Here we analyze the contribution of NF-kappaB to the regulation of epithelial cell turnover in the colon. Immunohistochemical, immunoblot, and DNA binding analyses indicate that NF-kappaB complexes change as colonocytes mature: p65-p50 complexes predominate in proliferating epithelial cells of the colon, whereas the p50-p50 dimer is prevalent in mature epithelial cells.

The transcription factor nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-kappaB) regulates genes that can influence cell proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammatory responses. Since these events can contribute to carcinogenesis, we examined the expression of NF-kappaB inhibitory proteins (IkappaBs) in normal and transformed colonic epithelial cells. Immunohistochemical analysis of the mouse colon revealed a high level of IkappaBbeta expression in epithelial cells relative to the rest of the tissue, whereas IkappaBalpha was found primarily in cells of the lamina propria.

The antigenic properties of 15 strains of hepesvirus isolated from herpetic lesions of different localization were studied. The serotype of each strain was established by the neutralization tests with hyperimmune sera to the reference type 1 and 2 strains: the cross-neutralization tests revealed antigenic relationships between the strains of 1 and 2 serotypes. Most strains isolated from lesions of the genitalia belonged to type 2, although one strain isolated in herpes genitalis belonged to type 1, and 2 strains isolated from facial lesions also belonged to type 2.
