The computer-aided diagnosis of pneumothorax has received a dramatic boost in the last few years due to deep learning advances and the first public pneumothorax diagnosis competition with 15257 chest X-rays manually annotated by a team of 19 radiologists.

The therapeutic possibilities of peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and hemo- and lymphosorption in the treatment of the intoxication syndrome were studied in 786 patients. The causes of the intoxication syndrome were as follows: postoperative peritonitis (98), acute renal insufficiency of various etiology (493), acute hepatorenal insufficiency with exogenous poisoning (178), diffuse purulent peritonitis (11), pancreatogenic peritonitis (6). Enzymatic lavage and peritoneal dialysis were applied in 98 patients, hemodialysis methods in 493, hemosorption was conducted 360 times in 178 patients and lymphosorption in 17 patients.

IgA-antibodies to pneumococcal antigens were measured by enzyme immunoassay in saliva and nasal washings, obtained from 32 children aged 6 months to 14 years with acute pneumonia and from 25 healthy children aged 2.5-11 years. In the secretions of children with acute pneumonia an essential increase in the levels of IgA-antibodies in comparison with those observed in healthy children was detected.

The paper is concerned with an analysis of the results of the method of cryoheparinoprecipitation of plasma proteins in patients with immune complex pathology. The essence of the method is that in plasma cooling cryofibrinogens, cryoglobulins, immune complexes and other components of the complement system aggregate and precipitate. The process is potentiated by adding heparin to the plasma.

The authors report data about the contents of non-protein nitrogen, bound and soluble nitrogen, free amino acids, monocarbonyl compounds and volatile fatty acids as well as about the sum of dinitrophenylhydrazine derivatives of carbonyl compounds and about the microflora. The greatest differences between experimental and control cheeses (produced with rennin) in the contents of the above-mentioned constituents were observed within the first 30 days. On day 60 of experimentation, these differences had smoothed down.
