Moya-moya is a rare cerebrovascular disease characterized by the progressive occlusion of cerebral vessels with partial switching off the circle of Willis and arteries that feed it. The article provides a review of literature, modern diagnostic criteria and a description of a single clinical case. The onset of the disease in this patient was characterized by headache and speech disorders.

Objective: To assess the efficacy of aminophenylbutyric acid (anvifen), a synthetic GABA-receptor agonist, in the treatment of adult patients with tension type headache (TTH).
Material And Methods: Eighty-seven patients with episodic TTH (ETTH) and 30 patients with chronic TTH (CTTH) were examined. The area under the headache curve, sleep quality, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) scores and stress resistance measured by an original questionnaire were evaluated.
We describe the actinomycete strain IMV-70 isolated from the soils of Kazakhstan, which produces potent antibiotics with high levels of antibacterial activity. After the research of its morphological, chemotaxonomic, and cultural characteristics, the strain with potential to be developed further as a novel class of antibiotics with chemotherapeutics potential was identified as Streptomyces sp. IMV-70.

Incubation of erythrocyte membranes with apolipoprotein A-I was accompanied by significant changes in biophysical characteristics of a fluorescent probe pyrene in the hydrophobic membrane region and a decrease in Na+/K(+)-ATPase activity. Microviscosity of annular lipids in the plasma membrane of lymphocytes increased during incubation with apolipoprotein A-I.

This process positively correlates with the increase in the content of TNF-alpha soluble receptor (molecular weight 55 kDa), which can play a role in the mechanisms of immunopathogenesis of long persistence of hepatitis C virus in the body.

It is shown that different disorders of pulmonary ventilation correspond to different clinical manifestations of HVS. Thus, in bronchial obstruction (group 1) HVS manifests with "weak respiration", in restrictive pulmonary disorders (group 2) HVS manifests as "heavy respiration", in high parameters of bronchial permeability (group 3)--"shallow respiration".

The structure of lymphocyte and erythrocyte plasma membrane in patients with long persistence of tick-borne encephalitis virus was studied using fluorescent probes pyrene and 1-anilinonaphthalene-8-sulfonate. The authors analyze the clear-cut disorders in the membranes of both lymphocytes and erythrocytes in viral tick-borne-encephalitis from the viewpoint of generalized involvement of cell membranes in infectious process.

In a non-psychiatric clinic a combined psychiatric and somato-autonomic investigation was performed in 75 prepuberty and puberty children with functional hyperthermia . Syndromal and nosological characterization was performed on a spectrum of psychic disorders in these patients. Some correlations were found between syndromal and nosological distributions and grouping based on somato-autonomic++ picture.

By a combination of chemical and spectroscopic (1H and 13C NMR) studies the structure of a glycopeptide antibiotic eremomycin has been elucidated. It is closely related to vancomycin, but differs in sugar and chlorine content. The eremomycin aglycone contains monodechlorovancomycinic acid; the only chlorine atom is situated in the second amino acid after the N-terminal amino acid residue of the peptide.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFStructure of the carbohydrate moiety of the eremomycin molecule was assessed. Two residues of eremosamine were detected in the antibiotic. One of them in the composition of 2-0-(L-eremosaminyl)-D-glucopyrazone dissaccharide was linked by the phenol group to monodechlorvancomycinic acid and the other formed the monosaccharide branch by the alcohol group of the same acid at the peptide C-end area.

The children's status was marked by polysystemic shifts common to the neurogenous disorders. Of crucial significance was dysfunction of the structures of the suprasegmental level (the limbic-reticular complex) of vegetative regulation with the involvement of the specialized hypothalamic centers of thermoregulation, with excessive sympathetic influences at the periphery and formation of the psychovegetative syndrome.
