Background: Chronic pulmonary infection with pathogens such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa is associated with lung function decline and increased mortality in people with cystic fibrosis (CF). The relationship between sputum bacterial load and the severity of pulmonary exacerbations remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the relationship between sputum bacterial load and clinical response to antibiotic treatment of pulmonary exacerbations in children with CF.

Despite growing concerns, systematic investigations on trace metal pollution in the PBL sediments are so far not done, hindering effective conservation strategies. The present study aims to evaluate temporal distribution, enrichment, and potential eco-environmental risks of 14 trace metals (Al, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Cr, Ni, Pb, Co, U, V, Rb, Th, and Sc) in the PBL core sediments.

Increasing urbanization is problematic since it causes heat accumulation within urban areas due to the enhanced anthropogenic activities. With developing countries like India aiming for their economic growth, combating urban heat islands (UHIs) is a critical step in improving the quality of life.

Miliary presentation is a form of TB that can cause 100% mortality without treatment. Due to lack of a gold standard test, a systematic approach of high index of clinical suspicion and efforts at demonstrating Mycobacterium tuberculosis is imperative to early treatment initiation and mortality reduction.

These metal complexes displayed three significant absorption bands attributed to the ligand-centered (LC) transitions, ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (LLCT), and metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT). Binding studies of biomolecules were performed with the complexes along with the ligand, and it was found that after binding with Ru(II)/Ir(III), the properties of the ligands were enhanced.

However, its diagnosis is challenging, especially without known exposure. We present the case of a woman in her early 70s with no history of asbestos exposure, who presented with progressive breathlessness and left-sided chest pain.

The prepared OsCuONPs and nanocomposite films were characterized using UV-visible spectra, FTIR, SEM, XRD, TGA, water contact-angle (WCA) measurements, and a Universal testing machine (UTM) for mechanical property measurements. The UV and FTIR tests showed that OsCuONPs were formed and were present in the PVA composite film.

Pathologies like osteoporosis and fractures are common in this site, and surgical interventions like hip arthroplasty and internal fixtures with implants rely on knowledge about the anatomy of the proximal femur to ensure effective treatment. Hence, a greater understanding of these variations will be helpful in constructing better fitted prosthesis.

In airport runways, these foreign objects can damage the wheels or internal systems of planes, potentially leading to flight crashes. Surveys indicate that FOD-related damage costs over $4 billion annually, affecting airlines, airport tenants, and passengers.

Enzymes are the cornerstone of biocatalysis, biosynthesis and synthetic biology. However, their applicability is often limited by low substrate selectivity. A prime example is the bifunctional linalool/nerolidol synthase (LNS) that can use both geranyl diphosphate (GPP) and farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) to produce linalool and nerolidol, respectively.
