This review presents the status of the use of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of liver tumours. RFA is used in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinomas and colorectal liver metastases among others. The procedure can be done using percutaneous, laparoscopic and open surgical approaches.

The incidence of intraoperative loss of gallstones during LC is estimated to be 1-40%. 1-12% of patients with unretrieved gallstones may develop compli-cations, with intra-abdominal abscesses being the most frequent.
