The current magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques are unable to provide a direct map of tissue hypoxia.
Purpose: To investigate whether GdDO3NI, a nitroimidazole-based T MRI contrast agent allows imaging hypoxia in the injured brain after experimental TBI.
Breast MRI is the most sensitive modality for the detection of breast cancer. However, false-negative cases may occur, in which the cancer is not visualized at MRI and is instead diagnosed with another imaging modality. The authors describe the causes of false-negative breast MRI results, which can be categorized broadly as secondary to perceptual errors or cognitive errors, or nonvisualization secondary to nonenhancement of the tumor.

Methods: Humeral nails (Depuy Synthes Humeral Nail-EX, Paoli, PA) were inserted into 10 matched cadavers with 3 distal interlocking trajectories: anterior to posterior (A-P), anterolateral to posteromedial, and anteromedial to posterolateral (AM-PL). The distance of the screw path and screw head to the radial, lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve (LACN), and median nerves and the brachial artery was measured.

We assessed the diagnostic accuracy of digital photographs of plain film chest X-rays (CXRs) obtained using a mobile phone. The study was a randomized, non-inferiority trial, in which physical plain film CXRs viewed on a light box were compared with digital photographs of plain film CXRs. CXRs were selected from a database of radiology studies to show common pathologies found in Botswana associated with pneumonia, lung carcinoma, tuberculosis, pneumothorax and interstitial disease, as well as normal findings.

This study examined the possibility of using alternative methods to behavioral sampling and weight fluctuations for monitoring estrus in a female koala of reproductive age. Methods: The sagittal T1-weighted MR images of 21 HIV-positive patients (age range, 25 to 50 years; mean, 37 years) and 21 healthy control subjects (age range, 24 to 55 years; mean, 35 years) were reviewed blindly and independently by two radiologists who measured the maximal dimension of the nasopharyngeal lymphoid tissue. Twenty-six additional HIV-positive patients were combined with the original 21 HIV-positive patients, and the hematologic studies of these 47 patients were compared with the adenoidal measurements to assess whether a relationship existed between nasopharyngeal prominence and hematocrit, white blood cell count, and CD4 count.
