Objective: To assess the risk of recurrence with hormonal contraceptive use in breast cancer survivors of reproductive age.
Study Design: In this retrospective study, women ages 18-51 years who were diagnosed with primary stage 0-3 breast cancer between 2006-2016 and subsequently entered remission were included. Patients with missing information within the cancer registry or electronic medical record and those with a history of hysterectomy and/or sterilization procedure prior to diagnosis were excluded.
Purpose: Exercise after breast cancer diagnosis and treatment improves cancer-related outcomes, although the mechanisms involved are not clear. This study evaluated the impact of exercise on body composition, strength, endurance, quality of life (QOL), fatigue, and endocrine and inflammatory biomarkers in breast cancer survivors participating in a highly monitored, clinically supervised, moderate-intensity exercise program. The association of hormonal and inflammatory biomarkers with the observed physiological changes was assessed.

This report provides a summary of the program development.
Methods: Using a modified Delphi process, more than 100 measures of care quality were ranked.

Unlabelled: Although high mammographic density is considered one of the strongest risk factors for invasive breast cancer, the genes involved in modulating this clinical feature are unknown. Tissues of high mammographic density share key histologic features with stromal components within malignant lesions of tumor tissues, specifically low adipocyte and high extracellular matrix (ECM) content. We show that CD36, a transmembrane receptor that coordinately modulates multiple protumorigenic phenotypes, including adipocyte differentiation, angiogenesis, cell-ECM interactions, and immune signaling, is greatly repressed in multiple cell types of disease-free stroma associated with high mammographic density and tumor stroma.

Various electrode geometries and/or treatments have been employed traditionally to reduce EP contributions, although none succeeded to completely remove EP from measurements on tissues for all practical frequency ranges. A method of correction for contributions of EP to the dielectric properties of tissues is proposed.

This investigation was undertaken to evaluate racial and ethnic influences on survival of women with breast cancers and to identify influential factors.
Methods: A population of 766 racially and ethnically defined women with newly diagnosed invasive breast cancers in a clinical practice were prospectively evaluated and observed on a continuing basis.
Background: Controversy exists regarding the influence of sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping technique or patient variables on the success rate of SLN mapping. We undertook a prospective study in a single institution series to evaluate multiple variables that could adversely affect SLN identification rates.
Study Design: Data were collected on 174 patients who underwent 177 SLN mapping procedures followed by axillary dissection from October 1996 through January 2000.
