Vaginal posterior isthmic sling: A report of 53 cases.

Introduction: Sacrospinofixation is used for fundic vaginal vault's prolapse or to prevent mid-level or posterior prolapse. It can lead to complications such as dyspareunia, chronic pain, and quality of life impairment. Anchoring a posterior isthmic sling to the two sacrospinous ligaments is an alternative to classic Richter's sacrospinofixation.

[Mini-sling versus transobturator sling: Efficiency and morbidity].

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of an ALTIS mini-sling and a conventionnal suburethral sling TVT-ABBREVO for treatment of female stress urinary incontinence.

Methods: A single-center retrospective study included all female patients fitted with a conventional transobturator tape (TVT-ABBREVO) or mini-sling (ALTIS), during 2015, in Angers university hospital. The success rate was defined by no urine leakage during a cough test on clinical examination, improved quality of life defined by a PGI-I (Patient Global Impression of Improvement) score of 1 to 3, and no stress urinary incontinence on USP (Urinary Symptom Profile) questionnaire.

Aim: Breast-conserving surgery with radiation therapy is the primary treatment for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Re-excision is indicated when clear resection margins have not been achieved, although in some cases the procedure may be unnecessary as there is no residual tumor. The purpose of our three-Center retrospective study was to identify predictors of positive re-excision findings following breast-conserving surgery for DCIS.

We report a giant bowing of the spin-orbit splitting energy Delta0 in the dilute GaAs1-xBix alloy for Bi concentrations ranging from 0% to 1.8%. This is the first observation of a large relativistic correction to the host electronic band structure induced by just a few percent of isoelectronic doping in a semiconductor material.

[A comparative study of CPK during spinal surgery in the knee-chest position. Apropos of 93 patients].

A number of severe rhabdomyolysis with acute renal failure have been reported following spine surgery in knee chest position. CPK were measured postoperatively in 93 patients (A group), comparatively with two groups in which respectively neurosurgery without any muscle stretching (B group) and abdominal surgery with aid of retractors (C group) were performed. CPK were significantly and similarly increased in A and C groups only.

[Use of intravenous lidocaine in neuro-anesthesia and neuro-resuscitation].

Bolus injections of lidocaine are commonly used during neuroanesthesia to prevent or treat ICP elevations caused by tracheal or painful stimuli. Lidocaine can also be employed in case of hard intracranial hypertension, when the usual therapy fails. In 34 patients admitted in Neurological Intensive Care Unit, for a cerebral hematoma by ruptured arterio-venous malformation, are present in 26 patients, on the first day. In many cases, the APTT is increased and this can be respected. These disorders do not seem to modify the incidence of delayed hemorrhage, except for the severe perturbances, related to a DIC or an hepatic deficiency.

[Intracranial aneurysm and dysplasia of elastic tissue: pre- and postoperative problems].

[Hyperthermia in meningeal hemorrhage. Contribution of daily determination of inflammation proteins].

[Intracerebral hematoma caused by rupture of intracranial angioma. Analysis, prognosis and clinical course of 35 comatose patients admitted to intensive care units].

The outcome of 35 patients in deep coma (GSS less than 7) due to an intracerebral hematoma following ruptured arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and admitted to a neurosurgical intensive care unit is reviewed. Eighty percent of these patients had a cerebral AVM and 20% had an AVM in the posterior fossa. All had a medical treatment of increase intracranial pressure (ICP).
