- - A new sanitation concept has been developed using a UASB (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket) system to treat source-separated black water (BW) and grey water (GW) for methane (CH4) gas recovery.
- - Kitchen waste is added to enhance biogas production, while the effluent treatment focuses on recovering phosphorus and removing excess chemical oxygen demand (COD) and nitrogen.
- - This innovative approach results in significant energy savings of 200 MJ/year, alongside the production of 0.14 kg of phosphorus per person annually and 90 liters of reusable water.
