However, the biogeochemical significance of biofilms and the mechanisms by which they regulate nitrogen cycling remain elusive. In this study, we utilized DNA-stable isotope probing (DNA-SIP) labelling techniques in conjunction with metagenomics to reveal a nitrifying ecological niche in biofilms taken from the Yangtze Estuary, with those from sediment and water samples for comparison.

Conventional methods, such as using nonvolatile small molecular additives to slow the reaction, often result in buried interfacial voids and molecule diffusion, compromising the devices' operational stability. In this study, we introduced a molecular "thruster"-a hypervalent iodine (III) compound with three carbonyl groups and a C--I⁺ bond-that possesses coordination and dissociation abilities, enabling programed modulation of perovskite-film growth kinetics.

The persistent airway inflammation is the main characteristic of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), typically caused by an indoor environment pollution cigarette smoke (CS). METTL16 is an mA methyltransferase that has been proven to be closely associated with the occurrence of various diseases. However, its exact role in smoking-induced COPD remains to be investigated.

This process requires the close integration of osteogenesis and angiogenesis. Cell-free fat extract (CEFFE or FE), a recently emerging acellular fat extract containing abundant growth factors, holds significant potential for regulating osteo-angiogenic coupling and promoting regeneration of vascularized bone tissue.

Carbon-based perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs) have acquired broad interest due to their superior stability and lower cost compared with metal-based perovskite solar cells (M-PSCs). However, the presence of perovskite defects greatly limits the power conversion efficiency (PCE) and long-term stability of C-PSCs. Herein, a natural dye Congo red molecule containing dual-functional groups of amino and sulfonic acids is first used as a surface passivation agent to treat the surface of perovskite films.

This retrospective cohort study at a tertiary general hospital in Wuhan aimed to identify risk factors for hospital-acquired CRKP infections among 1,113 patients. All participants were aged 18 years and above, and had confirmed positive cultures for KP isolated within 48 hours post-hospitalization.

However, notorious sodium dendrite and unstable solid-electrolyte interface (SEI) have largely retarded their widespread implantation. Herein, porous amorphous carbon nanofiber embedded with Bi nanoparticles in nanopores (Bi@NC) was rationally designed as a 3D host for SMA.

The HYSPLIT model was used to explore the main transport pathways and potential source areas of PM and O. The results showed that: ① The annual averaged concentrations of PM in Suzhou decreased steadily during the study period, and the annual average concentration from 2020 to 2022 reached the national second-level standard limit.

However, it is necessary to consider the potential off-target toxicity associated with the inhibition of four BET BD2 proteins. To date, no BRD4 BD2 domain selective inhibitor has been reported.

Lignin is a crucial constituent of cell walls and plays a pivotal role in plant growth and development. However, the transcriptional regulatory network governing lignin biosynthesis is not fully understood. In this study, we observed that PpnCCT39 overexpression resulted in greener stems, larger basal diameters, and increased stem dry weight.

By fusing two cyclopentadienyl rings in the peri-tetracene bay regions, we introduce antiaromatic character into the π-system, leading to unique photophysical and electronic properties. A stable mesityl-substituted dicyclopenta-peri-tetracene derivative was synthesized through stepwise formylation/intramolecular cyclization at the bay regions of the dihydro peri-tetracene precursor, followed by oxidative dehydrogenation.

In this study, we successfully demonstrate the photocatalytic CHOH coupling to ethylene (CH), a valuable chemical raw material, by employing a carbon nitride-based catalyst. Specifically, we modify the layered polymer carbon nitride (PCN) photocatalyst through the incorporation of Au single atoms (Au/PCN) using a chemical-scissors method.

Methods: 950 non-disseminated NPC patients with completed remission in 3 months after treatment were retrospectively screened. Detectable EBV DNA with no evidence of clinical relapse during follow-up was deemed as DNA bounce.

The rapid rise of multidrug resistance (MDR) among Gram-negative bacteria has accelerated the development of novel therapies. Ceftazidime-avibactam (CZA) is a novel β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor recently approved for the treatment of limited infectious diseases. Here, we describe a novel CMY variant, CMY-192, that confers high-level resistance to CZA.

However, their inherent high reactivity poses challenges for synthesis and application. In this study, a novel approach is introduced: the fusion of a zigzag-edged peri-tetracene with an all-armchair-edged hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene (HBC) via two shared benzene rings to produce a stable open-shell hydrocarbon, named dibenzo-peri-heptacene (DBPH).

Methods: The Joanna Briggs Institute methods for conducting a scoping review were followed. Articles published since 2004 which assessed EFI in critically ill children were identified.
Objectives: To examine the correlation between healthy lifestyle patterns, their change trajectories, and the risk of multimorbidity in adults.
Methods: Based on two representative national cohorts, the English Longitudinal Study of Aging (ELSA) and the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) including adults aged 50 years and over. We employed Cox regression, lifestyle change trajectories, and restricted mean survival times to explore the relationship between lifestyle (assessed by SCORE2, LE'8, and HLS scores) and multimorbidity.
