Article Synopsis
  • Patients with KMT2A-rearranged acute myeloid leukemia (AML) show varying outcomes based on their molecular measurable residual disease (MRD) status before undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT).
  • The study analyzed 125 adult patients with KMT2A-r AML in complete remission, finding that 42% had detectable MRD, which significantly correlated with shorter overall survival (OS) and leukemia-free survival (LFS), and a higher risk of relapse.
  • The research suggests that monitoring MRD status is crucial for predicting patient outcomes, and additional therapies may be beneficial for those with detectable MRD prior to transplantation.

The proteasome, an evolutionarily conserved proteolytic complex comprising the 20S core particle and 19S regulatory particles, performs both shared and distinct functions across various tissues and organs. Spermatogenesis, a highly complex developmental process, relies on proteasome activity at multiple stages to regulate protein turnover. In this study, we selected the 20S subunit PSMA1 and 19S regulatory subunit PSMD2 to investigate the potential functions of the proteasome in spermatogenesis.

Here, we propose a stripping voltammetric method for Ag ion determination in distilled water utilizing screen-printed Au electrodes coated with Nafion (Nafion/Au screen-printed electrodes). The concentration of Ag in pure water was determined by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) after silver deposition on the Nafion/Au electrode. The anodic stripping peak current increased linearly with the concentration of Ag ion in the range from 1 ppm to 22 ppm.

Article Synopsis
  • Rodents, particularly zokors, which are specialized herbivorous mammals, are studied for their unique diets and gut microecology as they have adapted to underground living by feeding on underground plant parts.
  • The study analyzed the gut bacterial communities of two zokor species, finding distinct differences in gut microbial diversity and specific indicator genera aligned with their dietary habits.
  • The results indicated that dietary composition (not diversity) influenced feeding habits, with one species showing stronger cellulose degradation abilities, hinting at broader ecological implications for underground rodents in grasslands.

The global pandemic has resulted in the common occurrence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the population. In the post-pandemic era, it is imperative to understand the influence of donor SARS-CoV-2 infection on outcomes after allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). We retrospectively analysed allo-HSCTs from donors with mild SARS-CoV-2 infection or early recovery stage (ERS) (group 1, n = 65) and late recovery stage (group 2, n = 120).
