Background: Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in tumor microenvironment reduce the efficacy of immunotherapy. PKN2 plays a role in colon cancer, but its function in esophageal cancer (EC) remains unclear. This study investigated PKN2 expression in MDSCs derived from EC tissues and determined whether PKN2 regulates immunosuppressive activity of MDSCs by mediating fatty acid oxidation (FAO).

Gesture recognition is a relatively natural humanmachine interface (HMI). Electromyography (EMG) based gesture recognition methods have been extensively investigated in upper limb prostheses as a special HMI, in which EMG sensors are mostly mounted on the proximal part of the forearm. However, for more general applications beyond upper-limb prosthetics, the wrist may be a more suitable position for more intuitive HMIs, in which independent finger movements in addition to wrist gestures can be realized.

Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 97 consecutive patients (with 127 plaques: 40 progressive and 87 nonprogressive) who underwent serial CCTA examinations. We analyzed conventional parameters and PCAT radiomics features.
Emerging evidence indicates the inhibition of neuroinflammation is an important and promising strategy for managing Alzheimer's disease. Anti-neuroinflammatory agents are potential drug leads. In this work, seventeen diterpenoids (1-17) including ten previously undescribed ones, named excoaglolides A-J (1-10) were isolated from the stems and twigs of the mangrove plant, Excoecaria agallocha L.

While tumor hypoxia significantly impacts patient outcomes, identifying hypoxic genomic markers remains challenging. This study sought to identify hypoxic computed tomography (CT) radiomic features and create an artificial intelligence (AI) model for NSCLC through the integration of multi-modal data.

Methods: From January 2022 to June 2022, 45 patients with typeⅡa OLT were treated with PRP arthroscopic injection combined with ESWT, including 29 males and 16 females; aged from 18 to 63 years old with an average of(37.7±10.
Background: Recently, some observational studies have suggested potential associations between erectile dysfunction (ED) and respiratory function. However, the underlying biological mechanisms and causal relationships between ED and lung function require further investigation. This study aimed to explore the causalities between ED and lung function traits.

Background: Glycolysis proved to have a prognostic value in lung cancer; however, to identify glycolysis-related genomic markers is expensive and challenging. This study aimed at identifying glycolysis-related computed tomography (CT) radiomics features to develop a deep-learning prognostic model for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: The study included 274 NSCLC patients from cohorts of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University (SZ; n=64), the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-NSCLC dataset (n=74), and the Gene Expression Omnibus dataset (n=136).
Objectives: To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of enteral nutrition with ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid preparations or standard enteral nutrition preparations used in patients with gastric cancer during perioperative period, and to provide reference for clinical rational drug use.
Methods: Pubmed, EMbase, The Cochrane Library, CNKI and Wanfang Medical databases were searched by computer to collect relevant literature. The search period was from the establishment of the database to August 1, 2024.

Chemoproteomic probes (CPPs) have been widely considered as powerful molecular biological tools that enable the highly efficient discovery of both binding proteins and modes of action for the studied compounds. They have been successfully used to validate targets and identify binders. The design of CPP has been considered extremely challenging, which asks for the generalization using a large number of probe data.

The measurement of cell-based molecular bioactivity (CMB) is critical for almost every step of drug development. With the booming application of AI in biomedicine, it is essential to have the CMB data to promote the learning of cell-based patterns for guiding modern drug discovery, but no database providing such information has been constructed yet. In this study, we introduce MolBiC, a knowledge base designed to describe valuable data on molecular bioactivity measured within a cellular context.

So far, PDM-based proteomics has emerged to be one of the cutting-edge directions and massive data have been accumulated. However, such PDM-based proteomic data have not been provided by any of the available databases, and proteomics profiles of all proteins in proteomic study are also completely absent from existing databases.

The assembly and activation of PANoptosomes are pivotal processes in PANoptosis, with several PANoptosomes already identified. Linkages between PANoptosis and the pathophysiology of various systemic illnesses are established, with increasing recognition of its association with oral ailments.

Although microgravity has been implicated in osteoporosis, the precise molecular mechanism remains elusive. Here, we found that microgravity might induce mitochondrial protein buildup in skeletal muscle, alongside reduced levels of LONP1 protein. We revealed that disruptions in mitochondrial proteolysis, induced by the targeted skeletal muscle-specific deletion of the essential mitochondrial protease LONP1 or by the acute inducible deletion of muscle LONP1 in adult mice, cause reduced bone mass and compromised mechanical function.
