Chinese post-fermented teas are produced through special fermentation by microorganisms, with fungi significantly contributing to their flavor and sensory characteristics. Here, the fungal community structure and function were investigated using Illumina HiSeq sequencing of the fungal ITS rDNA region across different post-fermented teas, including Fuzhuan, Qingzhuan, Tianjian black, Liupao, and raw and ripened Pu-erh. Additionally, the headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) technology was used to compare the volatile components of tea samples, and moisture content, pH, total nitrogen, carbon-nitrogen ratio, and total sulfur were measured.

A rat model of bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAO) was established and treated with AAV-ALDH2. ALDH2 expression, cognitive function, and levels of inflammation- and oxidative stress-related factors, were examined, followed by observing changes in BBB and mitochondrial functions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcetaminophen (APAP)-induced liver injury (AILI) represents a common yet potentially severe type of drug-induced liver injury with limited available effective therapeutic methods. Magnolin possesses excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties for treating various diseases. However, its effects against AILI and the fundamental mechanisms still lack comprehensive exploration.

Lysine succinylation, a post-translational modification, regulates cellular function in eukaryotes but is less characterized in bacteria. We hypothesized that lysine succinylation regulates EHEC virulence.

Therefore, identifying the relationship between ecological adaptability and secondary metabolites is important for enhancing the quality of Chinese medicinal materials. In this study, we collected 10-year-old Cortex Eucommiae (Eucommia ulmoides, EU) samples from 21 plots in eight provinces which are the primary production areas of EU in central China.

Methods: This retrospective analysis records of 1,270 women with twin pregnancies, delivered at the Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital between 2019 and 2021, were retrospectively analysed. Women were diagnosed as underweight, normal BMI, and overweight/obese according to their PPBMI.

The growing prevalence of assisted reproductive technology (ART) is leading to a continuous rise in twin pregnancies. This study assessed the influence of ART on neonatal outcomes of twin pregnancies. Clinical records of twin deliveries at Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital between 2019 and 2021 were retrospectively selected and grouped based on the method of conception: ART-conceived and naturally conceived.

However, the complexity of the rehabilitation modalities exposes patients to decision-making conflicts, exacerbates their disabilities, and diminishes their quality of life. This study aimed to explore the experiences and needs of older patients with stroke in China during rehabilitation decision-making, providing a reference for developing decision-support strategies.

Although the precise cause and pathophysiology of HSCR remain elusive, increasing evidence points to a significant role of autophagy in its development, warranting further investigation into its underlying mechanisms.
Methods: This study utilized publicly available microarray expression profiling datasets, GSE96854 and GSE98502, from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).

Masked image modeling (MIM) has been considered as the state-of-the-art (SOTA) self-supervised learning (SSL) technique in terms of visual pretraining. The impressive generalization ability of MIM also paves the way for the remarkable success of large-scale vision foundation models. In this article, we further discuss the validity and advantages of implementing MIM techniques in the reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHSs) and we associate the analysis with a novel MIM method named R-MIM (short for RKHS-MIM).

Results: Here, we designed and developed an ultrasound probe enhanced enzymatic hydrolysis reactor for quick separation and simultaneously quantification of 22 β-adrenergic agonists in animal urine and livestock wastewater. Owing to the enhancement of the conventional enzymatic digestion through the ultrasound acoustic probe power, only 2 min was required for the comprehensively separation of β-adrenergic agonists from the sample matrices, making it a much more desirable alternative tool for high-throughput investigation.
Introduction: Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) is an effective intervention for patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD). We aimed to identify the patient group with a low success rate or high complication rate of BPA, which is still unclear.
Methods: Both CTEPD patients with or without pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH and NoPH-CTEPD) were included.
Background: Early detection of high-risk nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) recurrence is essential. We created a machine learning-derived prognostic signature (MLDPS) by combining three machine learning (ML) models to predict progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with non-metastatic NPC.
Methods: A cohort of 653 patients with non-metastatic NPC was divided into a training (n = 457) and validation (n = 196) dataset (7:3 ratio).
Reactive oxygen species causes oxidative stress, which oxidizes polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) to form oxidative metabolites. Sertoli cell is an important cellular metabolism of PUFA in testicular cells, and it regulates the testis development and spermatogenesis. However, the oxylipins generated in testes with different developmental statuses are lacking.

Nevertheless, the model still lacks high-level discriminability, which results in poor linear probing performance. In view of the fact that strong augmentation plays an essential role in contrastive learning, can we capitalize on strong augmentation in MAE? The difficulty originates from the pixel uncertainty caused by strong augmentation that may affect the reconstruction, and thus, directly introducing strong augmentation into MAE often hurts the performance.
