Background: Despite the global standardization of hemoglobin (Hb) testing in early pregnancy, the impact of first trimester Hb concentrations on pregnancy outcomes remains inadequately understood. Also, the early pregnancy Hb concentrations have not been well documented in Western China. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the Hb concentrations during early pregnancy and their associations with adverse pregnancy outcomes in Western China.

Urinary incontinence (UI) is a disease that quietly yet seriously impacts women's health and represents a global health burden that is often neglected. This study aims to systematically assess the prevalence and dynamics of female UI in China, and can inform further policies and have international implications. This study used three nationwide investigations: A national cross-sectional survey in 2021; another nationwide cross-sectional survey in 2006; and data regarding the institutions and physicians providing pelvic floor rehabilitation services from 2005 to 2019.

The secondary injuries following traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) is a multiphasic and complex process that is difficult to treat. Although methylprednisolone (MP) is the only available pharmacological regime for SCI treatment, its efficacy remains controversial due to its very narrow therapeutic time window and safety concerns associated with high dosage. In this study, we have developed an oil-in-gel type of organohydrogel (OHG) in which the binary oleic-water phases coexist, for the local delivery of MP.

Objective: To investigate the effects of intrauterine perfusion with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) on the endometrial thickness, volume, and blood flow parameters of patients with thin endometrium and their clinical outcomes.

Methods: We designed a prospective non-randomized synchronous controlled trial and recruited patients with thin endometrium who underwent frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) at Mianyang Central Hospital between September 1, 2021 and September 1, 2023. They were divided into two groups, an experimental group of patients who received the experimental treatment of intrauterine perfusion with G-CSF and a control group of patients who did not receive the experimental treatment.

Oxidative stress can induce inflammation and tight junction disruption in enterocytes. The initiation of inflammation is thought to commence with the activation of the ROS/NLRP3/IL-1β signaling pathway, marking a crucial starting point in the process. In our previous studies, we found that microbe-derived antioxidants (MAs) showed significant potential in enhancing both antioxidant capabilities and anti-inflammatory effects.

BaFeO-polypyrrolenanocomposites were prepared via the in situ chemical oxidative polymerization of pyrrole monomers in the presence of BaFeO powder, with ammonium persulfate as an oxidant and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate as a dopant. X-ray diffraction measurements and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy indicated that there were no chemical interactions between BaFeO and polypyrrole. In addition, scanning electron microscopy showed that the composites exhibited a core-shell structure.

During the last few decades, China implemented college enrollment expansion to accelerate the process of urbanization. However, most existing papers blaming that receiving higher education may delay people choosing to enter the age of first marriage, which in turn results in the age of the population. In this paper, we argued that the previous papers confused the total impact of higher education on the average age of the first marriage with the influence on individual's behavior change, and thus led to overestimating the delayed effect of higher education on the age choosing behavior of first marriage.

Nano-WO particles are expected to find use in new shielding materials because of their significant absorption of near-infrared light in the 1400-1600 nm and 1900-2200 nm bands and high transmittance of visible light. In this study, WO was ground and dispersed using high-energy ball-milling to prepare a nano-WO dispersion using BYK331 as the dispersant and ethanol as the solvent. The prepared nano-WO dispersion was added to a photo-curing system and cured using UV irradiation to form films.

Polymersomes possess the self-assembly vesicular structure similar to liposomes. Although a variety of comparisons between polymersomes and liposomes in the aspects of physical properties, preparation and applications have been elaborated in many studies, few focus on their differences in drug encapsulation, delivery and release and In the present work, we have provided a modified direct hydration method to encapsulate anti-cancer drug paclitaxel (PTX) into PEG--PCL constituted polymersomes (PTX@PS). In addition to advantages including narrow particle size distribution, high colloid stability and moderate drug-loading efficiency, we find that the loaded drug aggregate in small clusters and reside through the polymersome membrane, representing a unique core-satellite structure which might facilitate the sustained drug release.

Studies show that parental educational expectations (PEEs) serve as an intermediary variable between family background and children's educational attainment. This paper re-examines the relationship between PEEs and children's higher educational attainment using data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) 2010-2018. To address potential endogenous problems in the previous papers, we use the average College Enrolment Opportunity Index (CEOI) when the children were 10-12 years old as an instrumental variable for PEEs.

Given the difficulty in identifying individuals with different degrees of ovarian development, we developed a new device utilizing the hypothesis of mutual attraction behavior between male and female crabs with mature gonads by releasing the sexual pheromone so they could be examined. From a total of 40 female crabs, 10 were isolated within half an hour. Histological analysis showed that the ovaries of crabs in the isolated group were in stage IV, while those of the control groups were in stage III.

Objectives: This study aimed to establish a non-invasive radiomics model based on computed tomography (CT), with favorable sensitivity and specificity to predict EGFR mutation status in GGO-featured lung adenocarcinoma subsequently guiding the administration of targeted therapy.

Methods: Clinical-pathological information and preoperative CT images of 636 lung adenocarcinoma patients (464, 100, and 72 in the training, internal, and external validation sets, respectively) that underwent GGO lesions resection were included. A total of 1476 radiomics features were extracted with gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT).

Keloid may induce severe impairment of life quality for the patients, although keloid is a cutaneous benign tumor. Collagen triple helix repeat containing protein 1 (Cthrc1) was identified as a novel gene that was originally found in adventitial fibroblasts after arterial injury. To address the role of Cthrc1 in keloid, the expression level of Cthrc1 was assessed in normal skin and keloid tissue, as well as in normal fibroblasts (NFs) and keloid fibroblasts (KFs) by using quantitative PCR, Western blotting and immunohistochemical analysis.
