Lung abscess: Clinical characteristics of 222 Danish patients diagnosed from 2016 to 2021.

Introduction: Lung abscess (LA) is a serious respiratory infection often followed by several weeks of antibiotic treatment. This study described the clinical presentation of LA, treatment duration and mortality in a contemporary Danish population.

Methods: In a retrospective multicenter cohort study at four Danish hospitals, patients diagnosed with LA were identified using the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10th revision (ICD-10) between 2016 and 2021.

First outbreak of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in Denmark involving six Danish-born cases.

Background: Denmark is a low-incidence country for tuberculosis (TB) and multidrug-resistant (MDR) TB at 5 and 0.05 cases per 100,000 population, respectively. Until 2018, the transmission of MDR-TB was nonexistent except for a few pairwise related family cases.

Translation and linguistic validation of the Bronchiectasis Health Questionnaire (BHQ) into Danish.

Introduction: Patients with bronchiectasis suffer from breathlessness, cough and sputum production, which impairs quality of life. The Bronchiectasis Health Questionnaire (BHQ), a short and disease-specific questionnaire, has previously been developed and validated in English. The aim of this study was to translate and validate the BHQ in Danish, using established cross-cultural validation methods.
