It is generally accepted that the definitive treatment for irreparable aortic root disease is aortic root replacement with a valved conduit - the Bentall procedure. However, we try to follow a reparative strategy for all aortic root pathology whenever possible. Our "root-sparing" philosophy is achieved by restoration of physiological aortic root dimensions by the Florida sleeve technique and aortic cusp substitution by neocuspidization.

Depending on the location, angiosarcoma can lead to serious obstructive and embolic complications, as well as severe pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular heart failure.

Methods: We describe a 21-year-old woman suffered stabbing with damage of coronary artery with subsequent myocardial infarction and severe postinfarction heart failure with impaired right ventricular function. The patient underwent implantation of two continuous-flow ventricular assist devices.
