Paralabral Cysts with Associated Infraspinatus and Teres Minor Denervation: A Case Report.

Introduction: The shoulder is one of the most intricate articulation complexes in the human body. Any insult to its equilibrium can cause joint instability, pain, and dysfunction. The complex bony projections of the scapula, lengthy nature of the nerves, and extensive mobility of the joint places nerves at risk for impingement; this can, especially, be seen when examining the axillary and suprascapular nerves.

Inter- and Intrarater Reliability of the Femoral Tunnel Clock-Face Grading System During Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction.

Purpose: To determine the inter- and intrarater reliability of the clock-face grading system as used by 3 fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeons.

Methods: Arthroscopic video was taken of the femoral tunnel placement during 20 consecutive anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions performed by 2 surgeons. All femoral tunnels were created using a medial portal technique.

Comparison of revision rates in bone-patella tendon-bone autograft and allograft anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

This study compared the revision rates after autograft and allograft bone-patella tendon-bone anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. All bone-patella tendon-bone ACL reconstructions performed by a single surgeon between January 2000 and December 2006 were identified by retrospective chart review. Two hundred twenty-three patients met the inclusion criteria and 173 patients were available for follow-up.

Popliteus tendinitis: tips for diagnosis and management.

Recognizing and correctly diagnosing popliteus tendinitis is important because this condition can be painful, may significantly limit athletic performance, and can lead to unnecessary surgery if misdiagnosed. The diagnosis is largely established with a careful history and physical examination. Usually patients have symptoms that include tenderness along the course of the proximal popliteus tendon and pain with resisted external rotation.

Arthroscopic meniscus repair with bioabsorbable arrows.

Purpose: The clinical results of a single surgeon's experience with Meniscus Arrows (Bionx, Blue Bell, PA) for meniscal repair are reviewed and reported to determine the safety and efficacy of this device.

Type Of Study: Consecutive sample.

Methods: Over a 3-year period, the senior author has used only Meniscus Arrows for all meniscal repairs.
