Osteomyelitis as a Result of Pancreaticojejunostomy Stent Migration after Whipple Procedure.

Pancreaticoduodenectomy, or Whipple procedure, is a high-risk surgical procedure commonly performed for tumors of the pancreatic head. The pancreatico-enteric anastomosis is an important component of this procedure. The maturation and adequate healing of this anastomotic site is critical to decrease the risk of postoperative pancreatic fistulas.

26-Year-Old Survivor of Kasai Procedure With Native Liver.

A 26-year old woman with history of congenital biliary atresia and Kasai procedure as a newborn presented with recurrent nausea and abdominal pain. Physical examination showed anicteric sclera and tender right upper quadrant. Elevated liver function tests suggested obstruction and hepatitis.

Background And Aim: Colonoscopy is sensitive at detecting large polyps; however, a significant polyp miss rate is still recognized. Indicators such as the adenoma detection rate (ADR) and, more recently, the adenoma per colonoscopy rate (APC) are increasingly used to ensure quality in colonoscopy. We carried out a prospective, randomized, controlled study evaluating improvement in adenoma detection between wide-screen, high-definition (WSHD) monitors compared to standard monitors (SD).

Hemospray for Life-Threatening Ulcer Bleeding: First Case Report in the United States.

A 13-year-old boy with metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma presented with biliary obstruction requiring ERCP for stent placement. Re-evaluation after recurrence of symptoms revealed external migration of the stent with formation of a contralateral wall bleeding duodenal ulcer. Endoscopic therapy was not feasible and bleeding persisted despite medical therapy and embolization.

Liver involvement with acute myeloid leukemia.

Liver involvement with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is rarely reported. The majority of published cases suggest a cholestatic picture and obstructive jaundice at presentation. On the contrary, our patient presented with transaminitis without cholestasis.
