This paper introduces BEATRIX, a novel robotic head designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of robotics at universities. The BEATRIX robot comprises a head actuated by a neck-like mechanism with three stepper motors, two cameras and two microphones for acquisition of visual and audio information from the environment. Immune cells contribute approximately 5-10 % of the heart's total cell population, including several myeloid cell and lymphocyte cell subsets, which, despite their relatively small percentages, play important roles in cardiac homeostasis and remodeling responses to various forms of injury and long-term stress. Pathological cardiac stress activates the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), resulting in the release of the catecholamines epinephrine and norepinephrine either systemically or from sympathetic nerve terminals within various lymphoid organs. Acting at α- or β-adrenergic receptors (αAR, βAR), catecholamines regulate immune cell hematopoiesis, egress and migration in response to stress.

Adhesion G-protein-coupled receptors (AGPCRs), containing large N-terminal ligand-binding domains for environmental mechano-sensing, have been increasingly recognized to play important roles in numerous physiologic and pathologic processes. However, their impact on the heart, which undergoes dynamic mechanical alterations in healthy and failing states, remains understudied. ADGRG1 (formerly known as GPR56) is widely expressed, including in skeletal muscle where it was previously shown to mediate mechanical overload-induced muscle hypertrophy; thus, we hypothesized that it could impact the development of cardiac dysfunction and remodeling in response to pressure overload.

We sequenced and genotyped severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), influenza, adenovirus, and respiratory syncytial virus, among other pathogens, from residual anterior nasal swabs self-collected for rapid SARS-CoV-2 antigen testing at the US Naval Academy. Myeloid cells, including neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages, accumulate quickly after ischemic injury in the heart where they play integral roles in the regulation of inflammation and repair. We previously reported that deletion of β2-adrenergic receptor (β2AR) in all cells of hematopoietic origin resulted in generalized disruption of immune cell responsiveness to injury, but with unknown impact on myeloid cells specifically. The Deadly Liver Mob (DLM) is a peer-delivered incentivised health promotion program by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, and was introduced in response to the disproportionate number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians who are impacted by blood borne viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The goal of the program is to increase access to BBV and STI education, screening, treatment, and vaccination in recognition and response to the systemic barriers that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples face in accessing health care. This is a case presentation of an 18-year-old male victim who experienced a drug-facilitated sexual assault (DFSA). The drug used to incapacitate him was tetrahydrozoline (Visine) given rectally. Tetrahydrozoline, intended for ophthalmic administration, is in the class of drugs known as imidazoline receptor agonists and has been used as an agent for DFSA since the 1940s.
