Family and kinship care is a common way of caring for older adults, particularly in rural Ethiopia, where institutional care arrangements are nonexistent. Moreover, the majority of studies on family caregivers of older adults were conducted in western cultures, which makes it difficult to understand family caregivers in the Ethiopian context. This study aims at exploring the experience of family caregivers for older adults in a co-residential setting.

Armed conflict is a complicated topic with multidimensional impact on population health. This study aimed to assess of the health consequences of the northern Ethiopian conflict, 2022. We used a mixed method study design with a retrospective cross-sectional study supplemented by a qualitative study conducted from May to June 2022.

It is more prevalent during pregnancy and is linked to sleep disturbances, diminished quality of life, and pregnancy complications. However, previous studies yielded inconsistent findings among pregnant women in middle-income countries.

Home births raise the risk of maternal morbidity and death, whereas institutional births lessen the likelihood of difficulties during labor. Around 70% of labors in pastoralist regions of Ethiopia were assisted by traditional birth attendants.

This bird species lives in close contact with humans in several parts of its range. Nothing is known about parasites infecting the wattled ibis and its distribution across populations, with the exception of some lice species.

Its effects have a broad pattern, starting from direct war-related morbidity and mortality caused by bullets and bombs to indirect consequences due to the interruption of the delivery of preventive and curative health services. This study aimed to explore the health consequences of the northern Ethiopian conflict in the North Wollo zone, northeast Ethiopia, in 2022.

While numerous studies have aimed to determine the success rate of obstetric fistula closure in different health settings, there remains a significant scarcity of data on closure success rates and incontinence rates for various types of fistulas at the regional and sub-regional levels. The success rate reflects the continent's healthcare setup in regard to the World Health Organization standards.

Infections caused by these pathogens limit treatment options and contribute to the significant morbidity and mortality. Thus, to reduce their spread, early detection of these superbugs is very crucial.

The production, removal, and remodeling of fibrillar collagen is fundamental to mechanical homeostasis in arteries, including dynamic morphological and microstructural changes that occur in response to sustained changes in blood flow and pressure under physiological conditions. These dynamic processes involve complex, coupled biological, chemical, and mechanical mechanisms that are not completely understood. Nevertheless, recent simulations using constrained mixture models with phenomenologically motivated constitutive relations have proven able to predict salient features of the progression of certain vascular adaptations as well as disease processes.

Dyslipidemia is a well-known CVD risk factor which has been associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and its treatment in high-income countries. Studies in SSA that have examined the relationship between HIV and dyslipidemia have reported mixed results.

Methods: A comparative facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted from February 01 to May 30, 2019. A total of 434 HIV mono-infected and 143 TB/ HIV co-infected patients were randomly selected for the study.
Introduction: Cross-sectional studies show an association between food insecurity and higher body mass index (BMI), but this finding has not been evaluated longitudinally. Patient perspectives on food choice in resource-constrained environments are not well understood. The objective of this study was to evaluate the longitudinal association between food insecurity and BMI.

We analysed the effect of the implementation of Botswana's national ART programme, known as Masa, from 2002 to 2010.
Methods: The Masa programme started on Jan 21, 2002.
