The lack of comprehensive diagnostics and consensus analytical models for evaluating the status of a patient's immune system has hindered a wider adoption of immunoprofiling for treatment monitoring and response prediction in cancer patients. To address this unmet need, we developed an immunoprofiling platform that uses multiparameter flow cytometry to characterize immune cell heterogeneity in the peripheral blood of healthy donors and patients with advanced cancers. Here, a robust strategy is proposed for unbiased high-throughput screening of more than 140 000 materials to explore novel IR NLO materials with high thermal conductivity and wide band gap which are crucial to intrinsic laser damage threshold. Via our strategy, 106 compounds with desired band gaps, NLO coefficients and thermal conductivity are screened out, including 8 nitrides, 68 chalcogenides, in which Sr SnS is synthesized to verify the reliability of our process.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFOxidation of silicon nanoclusters depending on the temperature and oxygen pressure is explored from first principles using the evolutionary algorithm, and structural and thermodynamic analysis. From our calculations of 90 SiO clusters we found that under normal conditions oxidation does not stop at the stoichiometric SiO composition, as it does in bulk silicon, but goes further placing extra oxygen atoms on the cluster surface. These extra atoms are responsible for light emission, relevant to reactive oxygen species and many of them are magnetic.

We investigate transport and shot noise in lateral normal-metal-3D topological-insulator-superconductor contacts, where the 3D topological insulator (TI) is based on Bi. In the normal state, the devices are in the elastic diffusive transport regime, as demonstrated by a nearly universal value of the shot noise Fano factor F_{N}≈1/3 in magnetic field and in a reference normal-metal contact. In the absence of magnetic field, we identify the Andreev reflection (AR) regime, which gives rise to the effective charge doubling in shot noise measurements.

Quantitative evaluation of aggregated lymphoid follicles in various compartments of the large intestine was carried out in Wistar rats of different age: newborn (3-4 days), prepubertal (20-30 days), adult (2-3 months), and old (16-18 months). No aggregated lymphoid tissue was detected in the large intestinal mucosa of newborn animals. The cecum of prepubertal, adult, and old animals contained solitary patches with 7-9 follicles.
