Effect of and Cinnamon Essential Oil Nanoemulsion Coatings on the Preservation of Plant-Based Meat Analogs.

Plant-based meat analogs (PBMAs) are promising sustainable food sources. However, their high moisture and protein contents make them prone to microbial deterioration, limiting their shelf life and sensory appeal. This study explored enhancing PBMAs' shelf life using nanoemulsions of and cinnamon essential oils, emulsified with chitosan and Tween 80.

High moisture extrusion of soybean protein isolate: Effect of β-glucan on physicochemical properties of extrudates.

This study is focused on exploring the effect of twin-screw high-moisture extrusion technology on the physico-chemical properties of β-glucan-soybean protein isolate (SPI-BG) extrudates. Different proportions (0 %, 1 %, 2 %, 3 %, 4 %, 5 %) of oat β-glucan (BG) were added with soybean protein isolate (SPI) to prepare SPI-BG extrudates. Results showed that the addition of a high quantity of β-glucan (BG) decreased the elastic properties of soy protein isolate (SPI) extrudates and then increased.

Evaluation of computed tomography-guided parapharyngeal mass needle biopsy through mandibular notch for diagnosis of recurrent nasopharygeal carcinoma.

Objective: The aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of computed tomography (CT)-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) from Mandibular notch and under the zygomatic arch for pathological diagnosis of recurrence nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after radiotherapy (RT).

Materials And Methods: Between October 2007 and December 2013, 48 patients with suspected recurrent NPC underwent CT-guided FNAB. A modified coaxial technique was used in all cases, and multiple samples were obtained for histological studies.
