Introduction: The role of endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration and fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNA/B) in the clinical management of gastrointestinal lymphoma has not been extensively studied. This study investigates the use of EUS-FNA/B in the diagnosis of first-time and recurrent gastrointestinal lymphomas at a large academic institution.
Materials And Methods: A total of 40 patients who had final diagnosis of lymphoma according to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of tumors of hematopoietic lymphoid tissues who underwent EUS-FNA/B were included in the study.
To improve the reproducibility of single particle analysis with LIBS, we study the particle size selectivity of photophoretic optical trap. Firstly, the photophoretic force is theoretically simulated and size selectivity in a Gaussian trapping beam is analyzed. Then, the particle size is statistically examined under different power of the trapping Gaussian beam.

Given that both nanoplastics and Zn levels are intertwined with oxidative stress, it is crucial to investigate the influence of nanoplastics on the level of labile Zn and get a better understanding of their cytotoxicity mechanisms. At the organelle level, the Golgi apparatus plays an active role in stress responses.

Central lung cancer is a common disease in clinic which usually occurs above the segmental bronchus. It is commonly accompanied by bronchial stenosis or obstruction, which can easily lead to atelectasis. Accurately distinguishing lung cancer from atelectasis is important for tumor staging, delineating the radiotherapy target area, and evaluating treatment efficacy.

Originally identified as a nuclear protein, HMGB1 has been found to play an important role in mediating inflammation when released from apoptotic or necrotic cells as a damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP). Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a disease of non-resolving inflammation, characterized by the presence of autoantibodies and systemic inflammation involving multiple organ systems.

Here, we present a bio-inspired surface aberration mitigation (SAM) technique that could significantly reduce the crystal surface aberration and realize high frequency conversion efficiency over a clear aperture of 400 mm × 400 mm. Numerical models are utilized to optimize and verify the mechanical properties and physical performance of the SAM technique.

We previously showed that high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) can engage receptor for advanced glycation end product (RAGE) to direct monocytes to a proinflammatory phenotype characterized by production of type 1 IFN and proinflammatory cytokines. In contrast, HMGB1 plus C1q form a tetramolecular complex cross-linking RAGE and LAIR-1 and directing monocytes to an antiinflammatory phenotype.

To overcome this problem, we propose the optomechanical analysis method to correlate the mechanical factors with its critical physical performance in theory. Further, combined with experiments and simulations, the mechanical sensitivity of the frequency converter is completely explained from the microscopic and macroscopic perspectives.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features and prognosis of colorectal synchronous multiple primary cancer(SMPC).
Methods: From January 2008 to June 2011, 51 patients diagnosed with colorectal SMPC underwent surgery at Department of General Surgery of Peking University First Hospital. Their clinicopathological features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis were summarized and analyzed.
In this Communication, novel water-soluble hyperbranched polysiloxanes (WHPSs) simultaneously containing hydroxyl and primary amine groups are developed. The polymers are constructed via melt polycondensation, that is, transesterification reaction between ethoxyl groups of (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane and hydroxyl groups of dihydric alcohols, using a one-step process under catalyst-free conditions. Surprisingly, the resultant WHPSs can emit bright blue fluorescence in the 100% solid state under the irradiation of UV light, and their photoluminescence intensities in aqueous solutions continuously go up along with increasing concentrations.

We present a case of 39-year-old male with primary retroperitoneal seminoma with staging and surveillance by means of F-18 fluoro-2-deoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT). The case demonstrates that primary retroperitoneal seminoma can be easy to identify with FDG-PET/CT and potential follow-up on recurrence, or metastatic disease can be performed using this technique.

Its clinical significance is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to assess the significance of focal FDG activity in PET/CT scans by correlating the imaging findings to colonoscopy results, and come up with some guidelines for recommendation of follow-up colonoscopy.
