Background: As cannabis policy trends toward liberalization, assessing cannabis health warning effects becomes increasingly important. This study investigated underlying mechanisms accounting for the effectiveness of cannabis health warnings on protective health intentions.

Method: A sample of 1,095 adults (21+) living in legal recreational US states who reported using cannabis in the past 12 months participated in an online experiment.

The molecular mechanisms of mechanotransduction in regulating mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) chondrogenesis are not fully understood and represent an area of growing investigation. In this study, human MSC was subjected to chondrogenic differentiation in chitosan-coated poly L-lactide-co-ɛ-caprolactone scaffolds under free swelling or deferral dynamic compression conditions. The effect of deferral dynamic compression to MSC chondrogenesis and late stage hypertrophy development was investigated, and the involvement of TGF-β/SMAD pathway and integrin β1 signaling was analyzed.

Considering the load-bearing physiological requirement of articular cartilage, scaffold for cartilage tissue engineering should exhibit appropriate mechanical responses as natural cartilage undergoing temporary deformation on loading with little structural collapse, and recovering to the original geometry on unloading. A porous elastomeric poly l-lactide-co-ɛ-caprolactone (PLCL) was generated and crosslinked at the surface to chitosan to improve its wettability. Human bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) attachment, morphological change, proliferation and in vitro cartilage tissue formation on the chitosan-modified PLCL scaffold were compared with the unmodified PLCL scaffold.

Cortical granules are secretory vesicles in oocytes that develop from the Golgi complex. In the freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium nipponense, mitochondria participates in the formation of cortical granules. We investigated the structural changes of mitochondria and the distribution cortical granules in different stages of oocyte development.

During oocyte maturation, egg envelope undergoes a series of changes in structure and function. We investigated the follicular envelope, zona radiata and plasmalemma of Chinese perch, Siniperca chuatsi at five different developmental stages by light, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. An octopus-like structure in the zona radiata was observed for the first time.
