This study examines 2,3-dibromo-6,7-dicyanonaphthalene (DDN), which contains cyano and halogen groups, deposited on Au(111) and Ag(111) surfaces, using scanning tunneling microscopy at room temperature. The reason for the formation of various cyclization products on the Au(111) surface is that the bromine of DDN and the cyano group have overlapping reaction temperature ranges.

In sodium-ion pouch batteries based on hard carbon, an additional source of active sodium significantly enhances the battery's initial coulombic efficiency and compensates for the loss of active sodium ions during cycling. This study investigates the interaction between metallic sodium with carbon materials and develops a composite powder material of sodium-rich lithium-aluminum using a multi-alloy grafting strategy, to replenish the initial loss of active sodium in the hard carbon materials. To enhance the stability and utilization of this highly active sodium source, a novel slurry system based on polyethylene oxide (PEO) as a binder and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as a solvent is introduced.

Photo-assisted uranium extraction from seawater (UES) is regarded as an efficient technique for uranium resource recovery, yet it currently faces many challenges, such as issues like biofouling resistance, low charge separation efficiency, slow carrier transfer, and a lack of active sites. Based on addressing the above challenges, a novel oxygen-deficient CoO/g-CN p-n heterojunction is developed for efficient photo-assisted uranium extraction from seawater. Relying on the defect-coupling heterojunction synergistic effect, the redistribution of molecular charge density formed the built-in electric field as revealed by DFT calculations, significantly enhancing the separation efficiency of carriers and accelerating their migration rate.

Glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) shows great efficiency against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but the detailed mechanism is unclear, which has limited its clinical application.
