The origin of flight and laryngeal echolocation in bats is likely to have been accompanied by evolutionary changes in other aspects of their sensory biology. Of all sensory modalities in bats, olfaction is perhaps the least well understood. Olfactory receptors (ORs) function in recognizing odour molecules, with crucial roles in evaluating food, as well as in processing social information.

Core waterbirds, a major clade of birds, share the common characteristics of being sexually monomorphic and having lower levels of inter-sexual conflict, yet their sex chromosome evolution remains poorly understood. Here, by we analyse of a chromosome-level assembly of a female crested ibis (Nipponia nippon), a typical core waterbird.

Methods: Selected 116 first mothers produced in our hospital from January 2010 to January 2022, which were divided into the control group and research group. The two groups each paid conventional care and focused on solving the nursing mode care.
The concept of point and the understanding of modern acupoint research on points were analyzed. According to the bowstring mechanics anatomy of needle-knife medicine and mesh theory, it was believed point was the warning of mechanical imbalance of bowstring mechanics anatomy. points were mainly distributed in the joint part of bowstring or stress concentration of string; the acupotomy could compensate for the subjectivity and arbitrariness of point selection of , which also emphasized the importance of point anatomy.

Methods: According to pathogenic factors and elbow anatomy, a "two points" acupotomology surgery program was designed, which could loose the attachment point of arcuate ligament on medial border of olecroanon and medial epicondyle of humerus. Twenty-one cases of cubital tunnel syndrome were treated with acupotmology, then the efficacy was obsered.
In this study, tacrolimus (FK506) was encapsulated into a biodegradable poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(D,L-lactide) (MPEG-PLA) block copolymer using a double emulsion-solvent evaporation technique. Drug loading (DL) and encapsulation efficiency (EE) can be changed by varying the mass ratio of FK506/MPEG-PLA. Furthermore, transmission electron microscope (TEM) and Malvern Zetasizer were used to investigate the properties of FK506/MPEG-PLA nanoparticles (DL=9.

Polymeric micelles (PMs) can overcome some limitations of the oral delivery acting as carriers able to enhance drug absorption, by providing (1) protection of the loaded drug from the harsh environment of the GI tract, (2) release of the drug in a controlled manner at target sites, (3) prolongation of the residence time in the gut by mucoadhesion, and (4) inhibition of efflux pumps to improve the drug accumulation. To explain the mechanisms for enhancement of oral bioavailability, we discussed the special stability of PMs, the controlled release properties of pH-sensitive PMs, the prolongation of residence time with mucoadhesive PMs, and the P-gp inhibitors commonly used in PMs, respectively.

However, their effects on gut microbiota in vivo remain unknown. Here we have studied the effects of oral administration of heparin or heparosan on gut microbiota in rats by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE).

The rheological study and hyaluronidase (HAse) degradation analysis of XG injection were presented. The effect of pain relief was determined by measurements of paw withdrawal threshold and weight bearing by hind limbs.

In this study, we investigated the preliminary cytotoxicity of XG on chondrocytes, evaluated the effects of XG on the proliferation and the protein expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) in interleukin-1β (IL-1β)-induced rabbit chondrocytes. Primary rabbit chondrocytes were cultured.

We utilized the Arnt-interacting protein 2 (Ainp2) to examine whether the presence of Ainp2 in MCF-7 cells would interfere with the Arnt-mediated ER signaling. We found that Arnt increased the 17 beta-estradiol (E2)-dependent luciferase activity and Ainp2 significantly suppressed this Arnt-mediated luciferase activity.

Using DEAE chromatography, we have obtained a Sf9 insect fraction F5 that is highly enriched with beta-tubulin. F5 inhibits the formation of the AhR gel shift complex and this inhibition is sensitive to protease, suggesting that proteins that are present in this F5 fraction are responsible for the inhibition.

We used a Lunar Prodigy DXA densitometer to measure bone mineral density (BMD), bone mineral content (BMC), and bone area (BA) at total body and subcranial skeleton for 877 healthy Chinese children (505 boys, 372 girls) aged 5-13 yr. The height-for-age, BA-for-height, and BMC-for-BA percentile curves were developed using the LMS method (L, power in Box-Cox transformation; M, median; S, coefficient of variation).

Heparin is also a highly used glycosaminoglycan in burns. To evaluate the effects of chitosan and heparin alone and the mixture of chitosan and heparin on early extension of burn wound, deep partial-thickness burns were performed on the dorsum of rats.

However, the relationships between hand and total body bone measurements have yet to be explored for children. We conducted a cross-sectional study of 892 normal Chinese children (511 males, 381 females) aged 5-14 years by measuring the BMD and bone mineral content (BMC) at the total hand, upper limb, subtotal body, and total body using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).

Aim: To prepare a complex of hyaluronic acid (HA) and phospholipids (PL), and study the improvement effect of PL on the oral absorption of HA.
Methods: The complex of HA-PL (named Haplex) was prepared by film dispersion and sonication method, its physico-chemical properties were identified by infrared spectra and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The oral absorption of Haplex was studied.
This study was aimed at determining the correlation between regional body composition and total body fat percentage (TBF%), as measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), among Chinese women and men. Men (n=203) and women (n=630), aged 20-87yr, were assessed for height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) and for total body, lumbar spine (L2-L4), and left and right proximal femur fat percentage using DXA. The ability and mechanisms of stabilization of freeze-dried formulations of pancreatic kininogenase (PKase) by carbohydrates were evaluated. Activity and structure of PKase were examined after freeze-drying and rehydration in presence with or without a carbohydrate. Addition of trehalose, lactose, sucrose, hyaluronic acid (HA) or a combination of trehalose and HA to PKase formulations prior to freeze-drying step increases the stability of PKase during freeze-drying, storage and rehydration as measured by activity preservation.
