The numerous stray cats and dogs worldwide pose a huge burden on local governments, keeping residents safe and healthy, and maintaining clean cities with good traffic situations. To effectively control the populations of these stray animals, while considering animal welfare, researchers have suggested the use of levonorgestrel (LNG) as a contraceptive method. However, the potential side effects of LNG on these animals need to be evaluated before widespread application.

Amorphous solid dispersion (ASD) has been widely used to enhance the oral bioavailability of water-insoluble drugs for oral delivery because of its advantages of enhancing solubility and dissolution rate. However, the problems related to drug recrystallization after drug dissolution in media or body fluid have constrained its application. Recently, a self-nanomicellizing solid dispersion (SNMSD) has been developed by incorporating self-micellizing polymers as carriers to settle the problems, markedly improving the ability of supersaturation maintenance and enhancing the oral bioavailability of drug.

The ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are essential for the removal of xenobiotics from arthropods. However, our knowledge about ABC transporter proteins in D.

The extensive use of pyrethroids for PRM control has led to the emergence of pyrethroid resistance. The objective of this study is to detect the pyrethroid resistance and explore its associated point mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (VGSC) gene among PRM populations in China.

However, the precise gene structures and physiological functions of Vg in D. gallinae and its upstream gene, Target of Rapamycin (TOR), have not been fully understood.

Toxoplasma gondii, a zoonotic protozoan, encodes at least 12 predicted BRD-containing proteins (BDPs). Here, we investigated the subcellular location and regulatory role of a hypothetical protein BDP that we named TgBDP5.

In apicomplexan parasites, calcium signaling can regulate many essential biological processes such as invasion and migration. As the main intracellular receptor for calcium ions, calmodulins control the activities of hundreds of enzymes and proteins.

Despite its high prevalence, fully effective and safe drugs for the treatment of C. parvum infections remain scarce, and there is no vaccine.

A 25-year long-term fertilization experiment was conducted on a Eun-Orthic Anthrosols in the sub-humid agroecosystem on Loess Plateau to study the effects of different fertilization on the distribution of organic nitrogen components in soil aggregates. The results indicated that under long-term fertilization, the distribution of hydrolyzed ammonia N and hydrolyzed unknown N (HUN) in soil aggregates was affected most significantly, followed by that of amino acid nitrogen, and of amino sugar nitrogen, suggesting that applying chemical and organic fertilizers in long-term could promote the combination of soil aggregates with hydrolyzed ammonia N and HUN, while amino sugar nitrogen was more stable during the processes of nitrogen cycling and transformation in soil. There were significant positive correlations of soil total hydrolyzed nitrogen with soil total organic carbon, total nitrogen, and fractal dimensions of aggregates, the correlation coefficient being 0.
