Oral squamous cell carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the oral cavity, with poor prognosis and easy recurrence. However, the relationship between MKI67 and oral squamous cell carcinoma remains unclear. The oral squamous cell carcinoma datasets GSE138206, GSE146483 and GSE184616 were downloaded from the gene expression omnibus database, and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened.

Objective: The relationship between oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and Corneodesmosin (CDSN) remains unclear. This study aims to explore the correlation between CDSN and the prognosis and survival time of patients with OSCC.
Methods: Bioinformatics were used to identify the hub role of CDSN in the OSCC.
Background: The aim of this study is to investigate changes of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets before and after treatment with pembrolizumab for advanced oral cancer and its clinical sig-nificance.
Methods: 32 patients with advanced oral cancer who received pembrolizumab treatment were selected as observation group, 30 healthy people during the same period were selected as control group. Before treatment and in cycles 1, 2, 3 and 4 after treatment, fluid cytometry was used to detect changes in levels of lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood of patients.
Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is one of the most common malignant tumor types in the oral and maxillofacial region. The etiology and pathogenesis behind TSCC is complicated. In the present study, three gene expression profiles, namely GSE31056, GSE13601 and GSE78060, were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).

Purpose: To investigate the effect of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and hyaluronic acid (HA) on the activity of periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDLFs) and the expression of cytokines.
Methods: Twelve wisdom teeth extracted due to orthodontics treatment were selected and prepared into 5 mm×4 mm root pieces, then divided into EDTA group, HA group, EDTA+HA group and untreated group according to different treatment methods. They were placed in the well plate and PDLFs inoculated on the root piece.

Purpose: To investigate the expression and significance of Spindly and Bub3 in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).
Methods: Sixty-five patients with OSCC admitted to the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University from March 2017 to March 2019 were enrolled. RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of Spindly and Bub3 mRNA in oral squamous cell carcinoma and adjacent normal tissues from the patients.
Astragalus membranaceus (HUANG QI, HQ) is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine. Researchers have widely concerned its antitumor effect. At present, there is still a lack of research on the treatment of laryngeal cancer with HQ.

Methods: Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was performed to detect miR-204-5p and BRD4 expression levels in tongue squamous cell carcinoma and different cell lines. TargetScan and dual luciferase reporter assay were used to confirm the target relationship between miR-204-5p and BRD4.
The effects of intravenous high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury remains to be elucidated. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of intravenous HMGB1 on the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) in the myocardium of rats following acute myocardial ischemia, and to examine the effects of intravenous HMGB1 on myocardial I/R injury. Male Wistar rats were divided into the following groups: Sham operation group (n=10), a group exposed to ischemia for 30 min and reperfusion for 4 h (I/R group) as a control (n=10), an HMGB group, in which 100 ng/kg HMGB was administered intravenously 30 min prior to ischemia (n=10), an LY group, in which LY294002, an inhibitor of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), was administered intravenously (0.

In total, 30 male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into sham operation (sham; n=10), acute myocardial infarction (AMI; n=10) and simvastatin (sim; n=10) groups. The AMI and sim groups were subjected to ischemia for 30 min, followed by reperfusion for 180 min.

The aim of this study was to investigate the roles of mitochondrial damage-caused mitophagy in RAB-induced prostate cancer cell death in vitro.
Methods: Human prostate cancer PC3 and LNCaP cells were tested.
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum spirochete bacterium. The killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR), interacting with human leukocyte antigens (HLA), regulate the activations of natural killer (NK) cells and certain T-cell subsets in response to microbe infection. The objective of this study was to explore whether KIR and HLA-C gene polymorphisms were associated with syphilis in a Chinese Han population.

Background & Objectives: Curcuma longa (turmeric) has a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for inflammatory conditions. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the preventive effects of curcumin against acute pancreatitis (AP) induced by caerulein in mouse and to elucidate possible mechanism of curcumin action.
Methods: Curcumin (50 mg/kg/day) was intraperitoneally injected to Kun Ming male mice for 6 days, followed by injection of caerulein to induce AP.
Microglial cells play an important role in mediating neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) by production of a series of proinflammatory mediators and clearance of Aβ peptides and senile plaques. Tetrandrine, a bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid isolated from the Chinese herb Radix Stephania tetrandra, has been demonstrated to decrease the expression of proinflammatory mediators by inhibition of NF-κB activation. Here we investigated whether tetrandrine may affect the phagocytosis of microglia and the expression of cytokines and NF-κB in murine BV2 microglial cells.

MTT assay, observation of morphologic changes, flow cytometric analysis, and western blot analysis indicated that ORI nanosuspension could significantly intensify the in vitro anti-tumor activity to MCF-7 cells, as compared with ORI solution. Furthermore, ORI nanosuspension induced G₂/M stage proliferation arrest and apoptosis in MCF-7 cells depending on its concentration.

We therefore hypothesized that glial-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) produced by EGCs might be involved in this regulation. Here we investigated the role of GDNF in regulating epithelial barrier function in vivo.

A plasmid pSDK-1 containing the Escherichia coli phosphofructokinase-1 gene (pfkA) was constructed, and transferred into Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans Tt-7 by conjugation. The pfkA gene from E. coli could be expressed in this obligately autotrophic bacterium but the enzyme activity (18 U g-1) was lower than that in E.
