Chronic hepatitis B virus infections are a significant cause of liver cirrhosis and cancer. Our research reveals that HBV infection leads to a marked increase in m6A modification of Foxp4 mRNA, resulting in enhanced stability of the mRNA and a subsequent increase in Foxp4 mRNA levels. Analysis of biopsy samples from chronic HBV patients demonstrated consistent upregulation of m6A-modified Foxp4 mRNA levels alongside increased Foxp4 mRNA levels.

Basal-like breast cancer (BLBC) is the most malignant subtype of breast cancer because of its aggressive clinical behaviour and lack of effective targeted agents. Krüppel-like factor 5 (KLF5) is an oncogenic transcription factor that is highly expressed in BLBC. The deubiquitinase (DUB) BRCA1-associated protein 1 (BAP1) stabilizes KLF5 and promotes BLBC growth and metastasis.

Integrating multi-stimuli response properties in one molecule is challenging. This study presents two 2D polymers, [(Bpydp)Ln(HO)(BDC)]·NO·2HO (Ln = Eu(1), Tb(2)), exhibiting rapid photo-responsiveness and the ability to detect specific small-molecule amines. In particular, complex 1 combines the functions of inkless printing, amine detection, anti-counterfeiting, and fluorescence recognition.

Diminished testosterone levels have been documented as a key factor in numerous male health disorders. Both human and animal studies have consistently demonstrated that cadmium (Cd), a pervasive environmental heavy metal, results in decreased testosterone levels. However, the exact mechanism through which Cd interferes with testosterone synthesis remains incompletely elucidated.

Background: Extracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is an important signal molecule. In previous studies, intensive research had revealed the crucial roles of family with sequence similarity 3 member A (FAM3A) in controlling hepatic glucolipid metabolism, islet β cell function, adipocyte differentiation, blood pressure, and other biological and pathophysiological processes. Although mitochondrial protein FAM3A plays crucial roles in the regulation of glucolipid metabolism via stimulating ATP release to activate P2 receptor pathways, its mechanism in promoting ATP release in hepatocytes remains unrevealed.

Two lanthanide 3D coordination polymers [Ln(L)Cl(HO)] (Ln = Eu (), Gd ()) with quinoline-2-carboxylic acid (HL) as the ligand were successfully synthesized and characterized. Complex exhibits a highly sensitive and selective luminescent response to 2,6-dipicolinic acid (DPA) in tap water and is virtually unaffected by interferences such as amino acids, aromatic carboxylic acids, and ions. With the addition of DPA, the luminescence intensity of complex decreases rapidly to the naked eye.

Cadmium (Cd) is a widely distributed typical environmental pollutant and one of the most toxic heavy metals. It is well-known that environmental Cd causes testicular damage by inducing classic types of cell death such as cell apoptosis and necrosis. However, as a new type of cell death, the role and mechanism of pyroptosis in Cd-induced testicular injury remain unclear.

Enhancing electrochemiluminescence (ECL) properties of luminophores is a hot direction in the current ECL field. Herein, we found that covalent rigidification of the aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) TABE (TABE = tetra-(4-aldehyde-(1,1-biphenyl))ethylene) into covalent organic framework nanosheets (TABE-PZ-CON, PZ = piperazine) could result in stronger ECL emission than those of TABE aggregates and TABE monomers. We termed the interesting phenomenon "covalent rigidification-triggered electrochemiluminescence (CRT-ECL) enhancement".
