Mammals have evolved mechanisms to sense hypoxia and induce hypoxic responses. Recently, high-throughput techniques have greatly promoted global studies of protein expression changes during hypoxia and the identification of candidate genes associated with hypoxia-adaptive evolution, which have contributed to the understanding of the complex regulatory networks of hypoxia. In this study, we developed an integrated resource for the expression dynamics of proteins in response to hypoxia (iHypoxia), and this database contains 2589 expression events of 1944 proteins identified by low-throughput experiments (LTEs) and 422,553 quantitative expression events of 33,559 proteins identified by high-throughput experiments from five mammals that exhibit a response to hypoxia.

Shortening hydraulic retention time (HRT) gradually could restart CBAR and accumulate anammox bacteria effectively in the reactor, where the carmine anammox granular sludge and biofilm were coexisted well. Two sets of hybrid constructed wetlands (HCWs) with the first-stage aeration were used to treat actual domestic sewage in this paper, where the effects of three important factors of aeration mode, hydraulic loading rates (HLR), and aeration volume on the removal of pollutants in both HCWs were studied in contrasts. In addition, the pollutant removal efficiency, the contribution of plants, and the characteristics of biofilm in both HCWs were explored. The results of 250-day experiment showed that the TN removal capacity of HCW combining vertical flow CW with horizontal flow CW (VF-HF) was better than HCW's converse combination (HF-VF) in treatingsewage, while the removal efficiency of COD and NH-N were similar, and the concentrations of TN and COD in the effluent of VF-HF could successfully meet the National discharge requirements.

The absorption characteristics of optically active constituents (OACs) in water column are important optical properties and basic parameters of establishing the inverse analysis model. Comparative analyses about seasonal variability of the optical absorption characteristics (phytoplankton, non-algal particles and chromophoric dissolved organic matter absorption characteristics) and water quality status of East Liaohe River basin were conducted based on the water samples in Erlong-hu Reservoir collected in June, September and October of 2011 and samples in East Liaohe River in October of 2012. Objectives: Health knowledge and behaviors are the key elements that ensure high quality of health for the elderly. This study explored and determined the conditions and factors of health knowledge and behaviors that affect the elderly in rural China.
Methods: A cross-sectional research approach and random stratified sampling method were used in 12 towns and 48 villages in the Chongqing Municipality, Henan, and Zhejiang Provinces in China from June to September 2013.
It is of great significance to study agroecosystem health in major grain producing areas based on the theory and method of ecosystem health. This paper selected Jilin Province as the study area, and an evaluation index system of agroecosystem health was built based on the SSI-VOR conceptual framework model. Using the optimal combined weights method, comprehensive evaluation assessment, GIS spatial analysis and grey slope similarity incidence models, the spatial-temporal pattern of agroecosystem health and influence factors were analyzed from 2000 to 2011 in Jilin Pro-vince.
