Introduction: The core objective of this study was to precisely locate metastatic lymph nodes, identify potential areas in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients that may not require radiotherapy, and propose a hypothesis for reduced target volume radiotherapy on the basis of these findings. Ultimately, we reassessed the differences in dosimetry of organs at risk (OARs) between reduced target volume (reduced CTV2) radiotherapy and standard radiotherapy.

Methods And Materials: A total of 209 patients participated in the study.

Hair loss is one of the skin conditions that can affect people's mental health. Plant raw material extracts are of great interest due to their safety. In this study, we utilize reverse network pharmacology to screen for key targets of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and the TGFβ/BMP signaling pathway, as well as key differential lipids, for plant raw materials selection.

Emerging evidence indicates that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a regulatory role in plant response to environmental stresses. Seed germination is a complex physiological process modulated by many environmental and phytohormonal cues. However, how lncRNAs and phytohormones interactively regulate the response of seed germination to salt stress remain largely unknown.

Brain microvascular endothelial cells are connected by tight junction (TJ) proteins and interacted by adhesion molecules, which participate in the selective permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB). The disruption of BBB is associated with the progression of cerebral diseases. Pterostilbene is a natural compound found in blueberries and grapes with a wide range of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-diabetic effects.

Copper foil is widely used in electronic components and devices. This study investigates the corrosion behavior of copper foil on printed circuit boards exposed for one year in a closed atmospheric environment across 22 different sites in the Sichuan-Tibet region. Through electrochemical, SEM/EDS, and XRD analyses, the corrosion behavior of copper foil material across the five selected sites (Meishan, Mangkang, Luding, Batang, and Panzhihua) and the influence of environmental factors were discussed.

The management of deep brain stimulation (DBS)-related surgical site infection (SSI) is challenging. This article aimed to report the efficacy of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) in treating DBS-related SSI while preserving all DBS devices. As a retrospective case series in a single center, localized DBS-related SSI was treated with complete debridement and NPWT, with preserving all DBS devices.

Article Synopsis
  • Coptis deltoidea (CD) is traditionally used to treat heat-toxin-related conditions but requires processing with wine (PCD) to reduce its bitterness and gastrointestinal side effects.
  • The study compared the impacts of CD and PCD on the gastrointestinal system through various tests on mice, including ingredient analysis, inflammation markers, and gut microbiota changes.
  • Findings indicated that while CD caused significant gastrointestinal damage and inflammation, PCD showed milder effects and a different impact on gut microbiota composition, suggesting processing with wine improves CD's safety profile.

LiDAR-Camera fusion is pivotal for perceiving and understanding complex traffic environments, particularly valuable in autonomous driving and traffic monitoring. Traditional calibration algorithms, primarily designed for onboard sensors, are inadequate for roadside setups where sensors are positioned higher and more dispersed. To address this challenge, we introduce the RLCFormer, a Transformer-based network specifically tailored for precise calibration of roadside sensors.

Background: Long-term use of rhubarb (RH) commonly leads to diarrhea, which can be alleviated by steaming with wine. However, the specific mechanism by which wine steaming alleviates RH-induced diarrhea remains unknown.

Objective: This study aims to reveal the underlying mechanisms of wine steaming in alleviating RH-induced diarrhea by examining small intestinal flora and serum metabolomics.

The exploration of a new conceptual strategy for improving the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) of earth-abundant electrocatalysts is critical. In this study, chiral copper oxide nanoflower is explored by a self-assembly method. The characterization suggests the chiral structure originates from the crystal plane-level helical stack of the secondary nanosheets.

Catalytic activities of single-atom catalysts are strongly dependent on their d-band centers. However, it is a long-standing challenge to provide a cost-effective and accurate evaluation for the positions of d-band centers of these catalysts due to the fact that the widely applicable photoelectron spectroscopy methodologies require complicated sampling and spectral unfolding processes. In this contribution, we have proposed oxygen intermediate-boosted electrochemiluminescence (ECL) for rapid spotting of the d-band centers of single-atom catalysts, involving single atomic Au, Ag, Cu and Fe.

The surface of prune fruit has a thick layer of frosting, which is easily damaged and lost during prunes harvest or postharvest handling, and there is no clear information on the effect of prune surface frost on postharvest storage quality. To investigate the effect of fruit frosting on the softening of prune fruits during storage under vibration stress, prunes were divided into three grades according to fruit frosting in this study and were vibrated for 8 h at a frequency of 5 Hz at 4 °C; then, samples were selected once every 8 d. The results showed that the heavy fruit frosting (HFF) group maintained higher hardness (21.

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is a popular conduction polymer and widely used in organic electronics, bioelectronics and printed electronics. It is believed that PEDOT:PSS has a core-shell colloidal structure dispersed in the formulation. However, the size and surface functional groups of the PEDOT:PSS dispersion and films remain to be visualized.

  • Long-term use of rhubarb (RH) can lead to gastrointestinal issues like diarrhea, but steaming it with wine (PRH) may help reduce these side effects, though the mechanisms are not fully understood.
  • The study aimed to investigate how PRH alleviates diarrhea caused by RH by examining small intestinal flora and immune function.
  • Results showed that PRH reduced harmful components, improved fecal characteristics, and mitigated small intestine injuries, indicating a potential beneficial effect of steaming RH with wine.

This study proposes a new method to evaluate the effectiveness of orebody grade estimations, drawing upon the analysis of existing evaluation methods for grade estimation. This new approach addresses factors such as uneven sampling and asymmetric estimation range, which are challenging to overcome with existing evaluation techniques. The core principle of this method involves documenting how frequently individual samples are used during grade estimation and calculating the total distance weights for each sample.

Insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction are the main pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, insulin therapy and diabetes medications do not effectively solve the two problems simultaneously. In this study, a biomimetic oral hydrogen nanogenerator that leverages the benefits of edible plant-derived exosomes and hydrogen therapy was constructed to overcome this dilemma by modulating gut microbiota and ameliorating oxidative stress and inflammatory responses.
