The gene family, comprising the and subfamilies in mammals, encodes ubiquitin-like proteins that are conjugated to phagophore membranes during autophagosome biogenesis. This study investigated the effect of different reheating treatments on gel properties and flavor changes of surimi products. As the reheating temperature increased from 90 °C to 121 °C, the heat-induced proteolysis produced more abundant umami and sweet amino acids, which took part in the conversion of IMP to AMP, thus enhancing the taste profiles. Reheating increased the exposure of active -NH terminals in proteins, which boosted Maillard and Strecker reactions with carbonyl compounds originated from fatty acid oxidation, thus not only reducing the aldehydes and esters contents but also lowering the whiteness of surimi products.

Objective: Both 5:2 IF diet (intermittent fasting) and daily caloric restriction eating had been suggested for management of MAFLD (Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease), this study aimed to evaluate the effects of 5:2 IF diet on body weight and metabolic parameters in adults with MAFLD, in comparison to daily caloric restriction eating.

Methods: This single-center, double-blind, prospective, randomized controlled trial included 60 patients with MAFLD, who were administered either a 5:2 IF diet limited calories consumed for 2 days each week with no restrictions on the remaining 5 (Group 5:2 IF diet) or a daily calorie restriction eating (Group daily calorie restriction). Fibrotouch-B instrument assessment, ultrasound assessment of hepatic steatosis, anthropometric indices and body composition analysis, blood sample measurements were conducted during two distinct visits: initially on the day of study commencement (T1), and subsequently at the conclusion of the 12-week intervention period (T2).

Fowl adenovirus serotype 4 (FAdV-4) is the main pathogen of the acute infectious disease hepatitis-hydropericardium syndrome (HHS). Previous studies have focused on the mechanisms of FAdV-4 caused liver injury, while studies revealing potential mechanisms of inflammatory injury in FAdV-4-infected chicken cardiac cells remain scare. Here we found that FAdV-4 successfully infected chicken embryonic cardiac fibroblasts (CECF) cells in vitro and significantly upregulated production of inflammatory cytokines including IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α, suggesting induction of a strong inflammatory response.
