Objective: To analyze the correlation of socioeconomic, sanitary, and demographic factors with homicides in Bahia, from 2013 to 2015.

Methods: Ecological study, using data from the Information System on Mortality and from the Superintendence of Economic and Social Studies. The depending variable is the corrected homicide rate.

The objective of this study was to correct and estimate five-year homicide rates in Bahia, Brazil, for the 1996-2015 period. An ecological study of the homicides was carried out using official data from the Mortality Information System of the Ministry of Health. Deaths due to assault are classified in the codes X85-Y09 of the International Classification of Disease 10th Revision (ICD-10).

Objective: To identify patterns in the spatial distribution of homicide death rates, considering the proportion of deaths of undetermined intent in the municipalities of the State of Bahia, from 2002 to 2013.

Method: An ecological study was carried out, using data from the Mortality Information System (SIM). Theproportional mortality of undetermined intent on the total external causes and the homicide rate were analyzed in several municipalities of Bahia and considering the Health Macro-regions (HMRs).

The evolution of rates were analyzed for the following categories: murder, larceny, bodily harm followed by death, homicide for resistance to police resulting in death, policeman killed, missing persons and dead bodies found in the state and city of Rio de Janeiro and in Integrated Public Security Area 16 (AISP 16). An ecological study was conducted for the period from 2002 to 2013, using data from the Public Security Institute. To analyze the time trend and evolution of murder charges, resistance to police resulting in death and missing persons rates, Joinpoint regression was performed, using these rates as the dependent variables and the calendar year as the independent variable.

An ecological study was conducted, the objective of which was to describe the evolution of homicide rates for residents of the State of Bahia, Brazil, and its nine health macroregions (MRS) in the period from 1996 to 2010. Crude and adjusted data from the Mortality Information System (SIM) and X85-Y09 codes of the Tenth International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) were analyzed. The number, proportion and homicide mortality rates (TMH) were analyzed.
