Experimentally, adrenal cortical parenchymal cell necrosis was induced by T-2 mycotoxin in female, but not male, mice. The lesion occurred in the adrenal glands in 11 of 11 female and 0 of 10 male mice given a nose-only aerosol exposure to T-2 mycotoxin. The necrosis, restricted to the zona fasciculata, began at the X zone interface and extended peripherally to involve 15% to 70% of the zone.

Previously it was shown that the acute administration of ethanol to the rat significantly alters the metabolism of the dopamine (DA) in liver but not in brain tissue. To extend this finding to the primate, two push-pull perfusion cannulae were implanted in the regions of the left and right caudate nucleus of a Macaca nemistrina. After 14C-DA was injected into the caudate, the site ws perfused with an artificial CSF and the perfusate analyzed for the major metalolites of DA.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA survey of the admissions policy adopted by the medical schools towards older applicants, and in particular graduate applicants, has been carried out. Some 1000 graduates applied for places in 1976, of whom about one in six was successful (compared with one in four for all applicants). The academic requirements for this category of student are normally at least an upper second class degree, age maxima vary from 25 to around 30 years and, increasingly, schools require a financial guarantee from students not in receipt of a Local Education Authority grant.

After a guide cannula had been implanted stereotaxically, a given subcortical site was radiolabeled with 14C-dopamine (DA) by microinjecting 2.0 mu Ci in 2.
