Profile of snakebite cases admitted to the Poison Control Center of Bach Mai Hospital in northern Vietnam from 2008 to 2020.

Background: Vietnam harbours a high species richness of venomous snakes with >60 recognised species but snakebite pathology and treatment are still understudied, particularly in northern Vietnam.

Methods: A retrospective study from 2008 to 2020 was conducted, focusing on snakebite cases at the Poison Control Center of Bach Mai Hospital, a major centre in northern Vietnam for treating envenoming incidents.

Results: A total of 5805 snakebite cases were reported over 12 y.

Introduction: Clinical and bacteriological features of cobra (Naja) bites are still relatively unknown in Vietnam. This study aimed to characterize the clinical and bacteriological characteristics of local wounds in patients with presumed Naja spp bite, as well as their antibiotic treatment.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on presumed Naja bite patients who were admitted to Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Comparative calcium binding of leucine-rich amelogenin peptide and full-length amelogenin.

Leucine-rich amelogenin peptide (LRAP) is an alternately spliced amelogenin. LRAP is known to bind to hydroxyapatite, and has been shown to signal mesenchymal cells to proliferate, but its function in enamel formation is unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the calcium-binding properties and structure of recombinant human LRAP (rLRAP) compared with full-length amelogenin (rH174).
