Magnetic activated carbon has been proved its separation ability to overcome a main drawback of activated carbon powder. However, effect of magnetization method on characterizations and Chromium (VI) adsorption of this adsorbent from Artocarpus Heterophyllus Peel (jackfruit peel) has not been investigated yet. This study magnetized jackfruit peel activated carbon using thermochemical and co-precipitation methods.

A deep learning detection model based on an attention mechanism was implemented to accurately identify and delineate small nanoparticles within unlabeled SEM images. Following detection, a graph-based network was employed to analyze the structural characteristics of the nanoparticles, while density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise was utilized to cluster the detected nanoparticles, identifying meaningful patterns and distributions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAssisted reproductive technologies (ART) play a crucial role in conserving threatened wildlife species such as Bos gaurus. ART requires a large number of mature oocytes, and small antral follicles (SAFs) in the ovary are often used to obtain abundant sources of bovine oocytes. However, oocytes from SAFs often experience difficulty completing maturation and obtaining high quality and quantity of blastocyst formation compared to fully grown oocytes.

Structurally, a glycoside is composed of aglycone attaching to one or several sugar moieties so-called glycone. It is found that biochemical or biopharmaceutical properties of glycoside are mainly determined by its sugar part and thereby alternation of this glycone resulting in novel structure and characteristics as well.

Methods: We performed a prospective observational study, enrolling adults aged 19-59 years in Dong Thap province, southern Vietnam, and collected blood samples from baseline until 4 weeks after the booster dose. We measured anti-nucleocapsid, anti-spike, and neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 and assessed the cross-neutralization against 14 SARS-CoV-2 variants and SARS-CoV-1.
There is limited information regarding the influence of mangrove growth on the morphological evolution of intertidal mudflats. In this study, Tan Phu Dong district, Tien Giang Province, Vietnam, was selected for investigating how mangrove growth influenced the morphological evolution of an intertidal mudflat. The authors analyzed a series of satellite images (from 1995 and 2022), calculated the enhanced vegetation index (EVI), and documented field visits and observations in pursuit of the objective of the study.

Bung Xang canal in Can Tho city of Vietnam is facing problems with water pollution due to the lack of centralized wastewater treatment plants and low public awareness on environmental protection. Perception of local residents was collected using structured questionnaires including both qualitative and quantitative information.

This finding may occur due to various causes, mostly after trauma and medical procedures. It can manifest with various features depending on the underlying cause, the location, and the extent of the air trapped.

Previously, this compound was chiefly produced by plant-originated extraction or chemical synthesis. However, due to increasing concern and demand for safe food and environmental issues, the biotechnological production of genkwanin and other bioactive compounds based on safe, cheap, and renewable substrates has gained much interest.

For bearing fault diagnosis, the data acquisition is time-consuming with complicated processes. Existing datasets are only focused on only one type of bearing, which limits real-world applications.

Drawing on the complexity theory and set theory, we applied configurational analysis using the fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis. The result of the analysis indicated two (2) sufficient configurations that led to an intention to switch channels.

A 2D-MoS flake is isolated by transferring a single MoS flake to SiO/Si substrate, followed by applying an advanced e-beam lithography (EBL) to form a metal contact with Au/Cr electrodes. The resulting chemoresistive nano-sensor using a single MoS flake was applied to detect a very low concentration of NO at the part-per-billion (ppb) level.

A promising water-conserving technology for paddy rice farming is the alternate wetting and drying irrigation system, established by the International Rice Research Institute. However, the strategy has still not been widely adopted, because water level measurement is challenging work and sometimes leads to a decrease in the rice yield.

Methods: Sixty-six chronic rhinosinusitis patients with or without nasal polyps who underwent bilateral endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) were randomly received a biodegradable gel containing hyaluronic acid and berberine hydrochloride or merocel in both middle meatal spacers at the end procedure of ESS. Lund-Kennedy endoscopic score (LKES) was used to examine status of nasal cavity on preoperative day and postoperative day 1 to 7.
This is the first investigation on overall characteristics of 25 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) (15 PAHs regulated by US-EPA (excluding naphthalene) and 16 PAHs recommended by the European Union) in ambient air of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Their levels, congener profiles, gas/particle partitioning, potential sources of atmospheric PAHs (gas and particulate phases), and lung cancer risks in the dry and rainy seasons were examined.
