Twenty-two cases related to benzodiazepine (BZD) withdrawal syndrome were identified and reported to Amiens's regional pharmacovigilance center between January 1st, 1995 and March 25th, 2014, all with a favourable outcome after reintroduction of a BZD. Despite being a very classical well-known side effect, physicians may underestimate this risk. Our series also confirms that the patient is misinformed about the consequences of an abrupt BZD discontinuation especially when the BZD has been consumed for many years.

Abstract Mycobacteria were isolated from a variety of materials such as soil, peat, humus, tufa, sphagnum, and wood, collected in alpine and subalpine habitats. Mycobacteria, including Mycobacterium kansasii, Mycobacterium malmoense, Mycobacterium szulgai, Mycobacterium gordonae, Mycobacterium terrae, Mycobacterium chelonae, and Mycobacterium fortuitum were recovered from 69 of 81 (85%) samples. Human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) causes adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) and HTLV-1-associated myelopathy (HAM). Fifteen mycobacterial strains from the environment, not clearly identifiable by biochemical properties, were analyzed with molecular markers: PCR-restriction enzyme analysis of hsp65 and sequencing of hsp65, and of the internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) and 16S rDNA.
