Telehealth has emerged as a model of modern technology for health care services in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic. To actively prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 by using a national digital transformation program, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health launched project 2628/Quyet dinh-Bo y te, which approved a scheme for remote medical examinations and treatments for 2020 to 2025. The project aims to connect 1000 hospitals to strengthen the quality of medical services by using the expertise of central hospitals to support rural areas via provincial hospitals.

Despite the sharp decrease in the cost of massively parallel sequencing, the technical know-how and skilled personnel are still one of the major limiting factors for applying this technology to NIPT in low-income settings. Methods: Pathological examination was conducted on 3 aborted fetuses with congenital rubella infection.
Findings: At autopsy, all 3 aborted fetuses showed congenital cataract confirmed by gross observation.
Background: Rubella remains poorly controlled in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to characterize rubella virus spread in Vietnam during 2011-2012.
Study Design: Amniotic fluid, throat swab and placenta samples were collected from 130 patients (110 cases from pregnant women with suspected rubella and 20 cases from fetuses/newborns).
