Nephrotoxicity caused by drug or chemical exposure involves complex mechanisms as well as a temporal integration of injury and repair responses in different nephron segments. Distinct cellular transcriptional programs regulate the time-dependent tissue injury and regeneration responses. Whole kidney transcriptome analysis cannot dissect the complex spatio-temporal injury and regeneration responses in the different nephron segments.

Patients And Methods: Data were collected from the prospective Swiss Venous Stent Registry, enrolling consecutive patients with a standardized follow-up procedure since January 2008. Patency was evaluated by duplex sonography and clinical outcome by various scores including the Villalta score at baseline, three, six, and 12 months, and then annually after endovascular therapy.
Therapy of malignant glioma relies on treatment with the O -methylating agent temozolomide (TMZ) concomitant with ionizing radiation followed by adjuvant TMZ. For the treatment of recurrences, DNA chloroethylating drugs are also used. The main killing lesion induced by these drugs is O -alkylguanine.

XAF1 knockdown abrogated the temozolomide (TMZ)-induced G2-arrest and prevented TMZ-induced apoptosis in the glioblastoma (GB) cell line LN229. Promoter methylation of XAF1 was found to be inversely correlated with mRNA expression in GB cells.

Replicative stress and cytokines promote signaling cascades that lead to the co-regulation of p53 and NF-κB. Consequently, nuclear p53/NF-κB signaling complexes activate NF-κB-dependent survival genes.

The first microcrystalline borazine-linked polymer, BLP-2(H), has been synthesized. BLP-2(H) crystallizes into 2D sheets that stack in an eclipsed AA fashion, has high thermal stability (∼420 °C) and high porosity (SA(BET) = 1178 m(2) g(-1)) and it can store up to 2.4 wt% of hydrogen at 77 K and 15 bar with isosteric heat of adsorption of 6.
