Phytonanoparticles have emerged as a promising class of biomaterials for enhancing bone regeneration and osseointegration, offering unique advantages in biocompatibility, multifunctionality, and sustainability. This comprehensive review explores the synthesis, characterization, and applications of phytonanoparticles in bone tissue engineering. The green synthesis approach, utilizing plant extracts as reducing and stabilizing agents, yields nanoparticles with intrinsic bioactive properties that can synergistically promote osteogenesis.

We investigated the and uses of pamoic acid functionalized gold nanoparticles (PA@AuNPs), with a focus on determining their safety and potential toxicity in living beings. To test this theory, the bacterial interaction of PA@AuNPs was studied using , , and cultures, as well as the inhibition of the bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein. The real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is used to measure the expression of target genes.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the concentrations of total fluoride (TF), total soluble fluoride (TSF) and ionic fluoride (IF) in various toothpaste brands marketed in Saudi Arabia and compare them with the labelled values.

Methods: Twenty toothpaste brands were randomly selected from supermarkets and hypermarkets in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For each brand, two samples from different production batches were purchased and labelled as sample 1 and sample 2.

Objective: This study investigated the effect of metabolic syndrome (MetS) on periodontal clinical parameters and salivary biomarkers' matrix metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) in patients with periodontitis.

Methods: A total of 120 participants aged 25-55 were categorized into three groups: MetS with periodontitis (n = 40); systemically healthy with periodontitis (n = 40); and systemically and periodontally healthy controls (n = 40). Data collected included systemic parameters like waist circumference (WC), blood pressure (BP), high- and low-density lipoproteins, triglycerides (TG), fasting blood sugar (FBS), and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c).

This study aims to develop chitosan-bioactive glass (BG) scaffolds for diabetic wound healing, toxicity valuation, and subcutaneous implantation in animals for biocompatibility assessment. The scaffolds were prepared by lyophilization technique. In specific BG without sodium (Na), composited with chitosan for better biological activities.

Bone tissue engineering deals with the design of bone scaffolds. The selection of porous scaffold for osteoblast attachment and suppression of microbial infections are the major challenges that were addressed by designing gelatin scaffolds conjugated with gymnemic acid. Gelatin scaffold was prepared by loading gymnemic acid and morphological characterization, porosity, water absorption behavior, and biocompatibility of the scaffold were studied.

Objectives: The objective of the study was to evaluate the cell compatibility and regenerative potential of 45S5 Bioglass (45S5-BG)-based bone graft implanted in critical-size defects (CSD) created at rat calvaria using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

Materials And Methods: cell compatibility of 45S5-BG was assessed using 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) test. For experiments, CSD of diameter 6 mm was created in the parietal bone and was treated with 45S5-BG bone graft in the test group (Group B), while the control group (Group A) CSD remained empty.

Background: COVID-19 vaccines were made available to the public by the end of 2020. However, little is known about COVID-19 booster dose (CBD) vaccine perception among healthcare workers (HCW) worldwide. The present study aims to assess the perception of CBD vaccines among healthcare workers in India and Saudi Arabia (SA).

Background: Phototherapy (PT) is widely used to prevent and treat severe hyperbilirubinemia and its associated risks for both acute and chronic bilirubin encephalopathy. Intensive PT, recommended for inpatient treatment of hyperbilirubinemia in term and near-term infants, is defined as having a spectral irradiance of ≥30 μW/cm2/nm.

Objectives: We aimed to assess local PT practices by measuring the irradiance of PT devices in local neonatal intensive care units and newborn nurseries.

This article describes how a health care team changed practice by implementing delayed cord clamping as standard practice. After administration of a survey to assess clinicians' knowledge and to discover barriers to this proposed practice change, members of a multidisciplinary committee used the results to create a guideline for delayed cord clamping and a plan for successful implementation. Integral to embedding and sustaining changes in practice was development of the Delivery Room Brief and Debrief Tool and inclusion of the process into nursing guidelines and the electronic health record.

The authors present a case of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma presenting in a newborn with stridor and respiratory distress that progressed to respiratory failure. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain revealed findings compatible with the diagnosis of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma. The family pursued palliative care and postmortem examination confirmed WHO grade III astrocytoma.

Background: The preservation or reduction of alveolar ridge resorption following tooth extraction is important in patients especially for those intended for implants at a later stage. One way to achieve this is by using membranes, graft materials, and biodegradable space fillers to prevent alveolar bone resorption and promote regeneration. A major attraction for using biodegradable and biocompatible polymers as space fillers for ridge preservation is their safety profile in comparison to xenograft materials like lyophilized bone and collagen.

Background: The safety and efficacy of early, low-dose, prolonged therapy with inhaled nitric oxide in premature newborns with respiratory failure are uncertain.

Methods: We performed a multicenter, randomized trial involving 793 newborns who were 34 weeks of gestational age or less and had respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation. Newborns were randomly assigned to receive either inhaled nitric oxide (5 ppm) or placebo gas for 21 days or until extubation, with stratification according to birth weight (500 to 749 g, 750 to 999 g, or 1000 to 1250 g).
