Chronic Achilles tendon ruptures.

Chronic Achilles ruptures present a significant challenge for the treating physician. These patients often have marked impairment of functional activities and usually require surgical treatment to optimize outcome. This article reviews some of the methods that have been described to treat the chronic or neglected Achilles tendon rupture.

High-risk foot and ankle patients.

The surgical treatment of complicated foot and ankle problems requires recognition and appreciation of patient and disease characteristics that may compromise surgical results. Appropriate patient selection is an important factor in obtaining a successful outcome. Modulation and management of these patient characteristics are critical in minimizing complications that are associated with treatment.

Tumoral pseudogout of the metatarsal.

We present a case of tumoral pseudogout centered at the right second metatarsal. MRI findings of the case as well as a review of five previous cases in the literature are presented.
