Hypereosinophilic syndrome requires a peripheral absolute eosinophil count of ≥1.5 × 109 /L with clinical manifestations attributable to peripheral or tissue hypereosinophilia. Clinical manifestations can vary greatly, with the majority of patients relatively asymptomatic and the eosinophilia detected incidentally.
