Unlabelled: We present the first case of a metastasizing renal cell carcinoma arising within a partially regressed multicystic dysplastic and ectopic left kidney in a 34-year-old patient. Despite nephrectomy and adjuvant immunotherapy, the patient died 4 months after diagnosis. Even though a recent systematic review found no evidence to support any of the different modalities for following up children with MCKD by ultrasound (Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine,
Level Of Evidence: 3a), our case supports the contrary and we emphasize that an annual control could be an important diagnostic choice (
Level Of Evidence: 4).
Objectives: To evaluate fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in voided urine specimens and selective upper urinary tract washings obtained from patients with suspected transitional cell cancer of the upper urinary tract (UT-TCC).
Methods: A total of 16 patients with suspected UT-TCC were included in the study. All patients underwent urinary tract imaging.
Objectives: To investigate the influence of intravesical potassium on pelvic floor activity (PFA) during voiding in women with recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTIs) by using comparative urodynamics (CUD).
Patients And Methods: CUD was conducted in 49 women (mean age 34.6 years, range 15-82) with rUTI.
Objectives: To assess the influence of intravesical potassium on pelvic floor activity (PFA) during voiding in women with symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB), by using comparative urodynamics (CUD).
Patients And Methods: The study included 175 women who met the criteria of OAB (mean age 52.7 years, range 18-87).
Purpose: Since the implementation of widespread serum total prostate specific antigen based screening, the risk of prostate cancer over diagnosis has become a concern. We evaluated the amount of possible over and under diagnosis of prostate cancer in an asymptomatic screening population with a total prostate specific antigen of 2.0 to 3.

Patients And Methods: In all, 180 patients with newly diagnosed clinically localized prostate cancer were assessed using 3D-TRUS for staging. TRUS findings were compared with histopathological staging after radical prostatectomy.
Objective: To assess a possible development of antisperm antibodies (ASA), present in a high percentage of infertile patients, after organ-sparing surgery for small testicular tumours, to identify any additional immunogenic effect of this procedure compared with standard orchidectomy.
Patients And Methods: Samples of sera were assessed from 54 men who had had surgery between 2000 and 2005 for testicular tumour; the men were divided into two groups, i.e.
Purpose: To report the long-term oncologic outcome and morbidity of laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymph-node dissection (L-RPLND) in clinical stage I nonseminomatous testicular germ-cell tumors (NSGCT) from a single institution.
Patients And Methods: From August 1992 to May 2005, 136 patients with clinical stage I disease underwent L-RPLND. The mean follow-up was 68 months (range 8-151 months).
Objective: To assess the value of three-dimensional (3D) vs two-dimensional (2D) ultrasonography (US) in the diagnostic evaluation of the urinary bladder in patients with haematuria.
Patients And Methods: In all, 42 patients with painless haematuria and/or irritative voiding symptoms were examined with 2D- and 3D-US. US was done with an Acuson Sequoia unit (Siemens Medical Sol.
Objective: To gain more insight into the histology of small incidental intratesticular lesions and evaluate the need for surgical management, as exploratory surgery is the only way to exclude malignancy in testicular tumours.
Patients And Methods: Between September 2000 and April 2005, incidental intratesticular masses of < or = 5 mm in diameter were found in 20 men undergoing scrotal ultrasonography for reasons other than suspected testicular tumour. After staging, an organ-sparing approach including frozen-section analysis was used to obtain histological data.
We report the first case of a diagnosis of an asymptomatic primary renal angiosarcoma. The patient underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy and is alive after long-term follow up. We provide the preoperative imaging studies and the histologic features of this exceedingly rare tumor.

Patients And Methods: From October 1988 until January 2004, two cycles of cisplatin-based chemotherapy were administered in 59 patients with low-volume retroperitoneal clinical stage II NSGCT (retroperitoneal mass of <5 cm in diameter). Regardless of remission detected on computed tomography, 6 weeks after chemotherapy the patients had a retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND) to assess residual active tumour or mature teratoma (open modified bilateral RPLND until 1992, then laparoscopic unilateral template RPLND).
Purpose: We analyzed the risk factors and incidence of secondary TCC of the remnant urothelium in women following radical cystectomy for TCC of the bladder.
Materials And Methods: A total of 85 women with a mean age of 64.5 years with clinically localized TCC of the bladder underwent radical cystectomy between 1992 and 2004.
We report a case of bilateral synchronous malignant mesothelioma of the testis. A 21-year-old man presented with an acute scrotum after 3 months of recurrent pain on the right side. Ultrasonography demonstrated an irregular thickening of the tunica vaginalis testis, scrotolyths, and an increased blood flow to the right epididymis testis.

We determined the efficacy and side effects of PDT in patients with recurrent superficial bladder cancer.
Methods: Between April 1994 and July 2001, PDT was performed in 31 patients (23 men and 8 women).
