Setting: Pooled 2015-2018 data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), the leading source for nationally representative substance use, mental health, and other health-related data and trends in the United States.

Introduction: Mitral valve repair has been established as the preferred treatment option in the management of degenerative mitral valve disease. Compared with other surgical treatment options, mitral valve repair is associated with increased survival and decreased rates of both complications and reoperations. Background: Serum amylase testing is not recommended for the workup of acute pancreatitis; yet it is commonly ordered in acute care settings.

Methods: This was a student-led quality improvement initiative with application of a pre-post study design at two urban hospitals: Mount Sinai Hospital, a 1,134-bed academic hospital, and Mount Sinai Queens, a 235-bed community hospital. The multifaceted intervention combined a targeted educational and awareness campaign with the decoupling of amylase from electronic order sets (at the academic hospital only), as well as a nonintrusive electronic medical record (EMR) advisory statement (at both hospitals).

We describe herein the optimization of an endoglycosidase-catalyzed glycosylation of the best-selling biotherapeutic Herceptin, an anti-HER2 antibody. Precise MS analysis of the intact four-chain Ab heteromultimer reveals nonspecific, non-enzymatic reactions (glycation), which are not detected under standard denaturing conditions.

The lipid carrier specificity of the protein N-glycosylation enzyme C. jejuni PglB was tested using a logical, synthetic array of natural and unnatural C10, C20, C30, and C40 polyisoprenol sugar pyrophosphates, including those bearing repeating cis-prenyl units. Unusual, short, synthetically accessible C20 prenols (nerylnerol 1d and geranylnerol 1e) were shown to be effective lipid carriers for PglB sugar substrates.
