Purpose: Recent advances in sequencing technologies have enabled radical and rapid progress in the genetic diagnosis of inherited retinal disorders (IRDs). Although the list of gene variations continues to grow, it lacks the genetic etiology of ethnic groups like South Asians. Differences in racial backgrounds and consanguinity add to genetic heterogeneity and phenotypic overlaps.

Chronic hyperglycemia damages retinal microvasculature embedded into the extracellular matrix (ECM), causing fluid leakage and ischemic retinal neovascularization. Current treatment strategies include intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) or steroidal injections, laser photocoagulation, or vitrectomy in severe cases.

The aim of the study was to correlate edema volume with the severity of diabetic retinopathy and response to treatment with intravitreal injections (compared to baseline). Diabetic retinopathy (DR; = 181) eyes were imaged with OCT (Heidelberg Engineering, Germany).

Methods: Preterm infants born ≤ 2000 grams birth weight (BW) and/or ≤ 34 weeks gestational age (GA) undergoing ROP screening were enrolled prospectively. Visual acuity was recorded using Teller Acuity Cards.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate early vascular and tomographic changes in the retina of diabetic patients using artificial intelligence (AI). The study included 74 age-matched normal eyes, 171 diabetic eyes without retinopathy (DWR) eyes and 69 mild non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) eyes. All patients underwent optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) imaging.

Background And Objective: To compare the vascular parameters derived from optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) images.
Patients And Methods: Twenty-two eyes of 22 patients were imaged with OCTA and FFA. FFA images were cropped to the same dimension as OCTA images after registration.

Background And Objective: To compare optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images from three different devices.
Patients And Methods: This was a prospective, observational, cross-sectional study. All eyes (n = 24) were imaged thrice each time with swept-source OCT (DRI OCT Triton Plus; Topcon, Tokyo, Japan), spectral-domain OCTA (AngioVue; Optovue, Fremont, CA), and SD-OCT Angioplex (Cirrus HD-OCT 5000; Carl Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany).
Lipemia retinalis is an unusual ocular finding associated with hypertriglyceridemia. We report the case of an infant treated for retinopathy of prematurity who later developed lipemia retinalis, with triglyceride levels of 4736 mg/dl. There was a paradoxical worsening of hypertriglyceridemia with the use of medium chain triglyceride supplement.
